Re: Fishing anyone?

I fish whenever I get the chance. Mostly small lakes around where I live, but I'm gunna take some fishing stuff with me when I move back to Detroit.
Biggest fish I've caught:
-22" Largemouth (3 or 4 times)
-24" Bowfin
-19" Catfish
-8 or 9" Perch

Re: Fishing anyone?

I enjoy fishing a lot. I mostly go fishing on my father-in-laws center console 17ft boat in the inlet near Ocean City. Mostly catch flounder, rockfish and croakers. Sadly, I've yet to catch a keeper in probably 15 or 20 trips. I've caught I'd say somewhere around a dozen flounder, 15-20 croakers and a couple of rockfish, but all were to small (in a couple of cases because the DNR length limits were upped for that season, even though the fish would have been big enough the last season).

My wife's uncle caught a 32 inch rockfish on an outting. That time around I caught a fishing pole and 2 horseshoe crabs on it.

We cleaned up the fishing pole and still use it (so we now have 3 instead of 2 poles). It couldn't have been in the water for more then a couple of weeks max. Only thing I've caught that I didn't have to throw back.

Oh, I also caught a small shark once, maybe 18 inches.

I am damned determined to ge a keeper one of these days. Now though its hard to go fishing as my in-laws just got an 18ft catameran for sailing...so if its a choice between sailing around the river and inlet or fishing...sadly sailing is going to win out most of the time. Of course once the weather cools, like say around thanksgiving, its back to fishing.

Re: Fishing anyone?

I enjoy fishing quite a bit...used to fish in lakes or in the Gulf of Mexico but since I live in the Rockies, usually streams and rivers.
every so often I'll walk down the greenbelt to the Boise river with a flyrod and fish for trout (steelhead, rainbow, mountain whitefish), just catch and release.
Went camping last weekend in the Sawtooth mountains and caught a few Kokanees.

Re: Fishing anyone?

we have a few good spots around here, but those were caught out of a HUGE lake where boats of any kind are prohibited so the fishing is still amazing there.
