Time to gripe and complain.

Okay...those of you in the Chi-town area understand what season it is.....for those who don't....there are TWO seasons...Winter and Construction. IT'S CONSTRUCTION season. Took almost 1 hours to get home which usually takes about 25 minutes last night. After going through construction EVERYWHERE. I noticed a nice little noise comming from my rear tire. Found THIS:

BTW - for those who can't tell.....that's a big ass bolt.

After getting this fixed last night the wife calls and says....hey....the Garage Door system just broke. GREAT.

Now mind you, my car is inside. She can't get it open. Door is heavy as hell. Well finally got it opened and we now also need a new garage door opener......$450 later.....(today)....it's fixed.......why so much? Because when it stopped working she pulled the quick release and it closed the door and broke the spring.

Anyway.....that's all. Hopefully today will be a better day.

Re: Time to gripe and complain.

Sucks man, sorry for ya. I just had a similar issue when I had a screw stuck in one of my tires. Luckily I was getting new ones in two weeks anyway, so I just let it be.

Just a note that I have learned, when you live in small town south there is never an end to construction. 10 years to widen a two lane highway to 4 lanes over 3 miles?

Re: Time to gripe and complain.

Why don't use pick up a pack of tire plugs from the auto-parts store. There only like 10 or 15$ for like 20 of them with the tools, and they work perfectly.

Re: Time to gripe and complain.

If you install it right which is retard easy they last. I one in the front right for the past 2 years NP. It cant be a gaping whole of course and they usually don't work well in the sidewall.

Re: Time to gripe and complain.

The red stretch of road in this is in process of being converted to 4 lanes with a center turning lane. I moved to Jonesboro almost 7 years ago and they were already working on it. When I drive through there today, how much you think they have gotten done? None other then clearing some land.

Just typical I guess, I don't understand why the state takes on all these road expansions at once, rather then doing one at a time quickly.

O and I am not thread jacking, it just usually helps me to hear that I'm not the only one with issues.

I know it's retard easy--which is probably why I don't trust it.

Re: Time to gripe and complain.

Those patch kits worked on my wife's tire very well for a year until she got new tires. It was a regular sized nail that got it. I was really suspicious of it and expected failure in a month, but it held up throughout the year.

Re: Time to gripe and complain.

I dunno, I like the security of having a patch on the inside, and since TFT only charges like $5 to fix the flat, why the hell not
