Come on, seriously. This is up there with the Grandma of some kid who walked in to a liquor store and shoots 3 people saying, "He was always such a good kid. No way my Joey would ever do anything like this. They must have the wrong kid"
Dude, bad news, she was double the legal limit, with MJ in her system and alcohol still in her stomach. I don't think the corner is going to screw up with all that evidence pretty clear. Maybe the blood tests got crossed with someone elses (unlikely, but it happens on sometimes)...but the blood tox AND stomach contents both being wrong. I think that is up there with the tooth fairy leaving a quarter under my pillow.
Either this guy is trying to fend off legal action against his wife's estate, is trying to hide the fact that he knew she had a serious problem or else he is deluding himself because he can't face the reality of his wife (or can't bring himself to ever admit it to his son that his mother nearly killed him and killed more then a half a dozen other people).
oh my. That is just horrible. More importantly, why was she drinking while supervising kids? It was the guy's wife though. Who knows, he could be in denial about her drinking. Maybe she had a mid life crisis, and decided to start. Im not making excuses for her, there's none for doing that.
It sounds like she had a lot going on medically, so she very well could have been depressed and drug/alcohol addicted to overcome some of it. It doesn't excuse it, but it certainly sounds like a probably psychological cause for the drinking and drug use. Hell to me the medical issues make it more likely in my eyes that she really did have a crap load of alcohol and MJ in her system, not less likely.
Of course why the F she did it right before/during driving a bunch of kids around (or driving period)...
Wow. The stupidity of people sometimes is beyond my comprehension.

Not to make light of a serious and terrible incident, but check out the kid's name.
"If I could prognosticate, it appears that there will be a civil suit," said Marshall Nemark, an attorney representing the families of Michael Bastardi and his son, Guy Bastardi, who were killed in the crash along with a friend.
