wamu becomes chase. F*ck u!

well, i think its time to dust off my old bank of america debit card and transfer my funds....

the story-

About 15 days ago i woke up to the gleeful reality of payday. excited, i went to my nearest wamu location to deposit my pathetic check that i am still ohh so grateful to recieve every two weeks due to my hours being cut at work. As i walk in i notice everything has changed, the once very nice and cheery tellers have been replaced with.. well, corporate banker robots whom work slow, dont speak to you, and worst of all MESS THINGS UP!!. After a ridiculously long line due to the tellers being so slow with each transaction, its my turn. So i make my deposit and after a a good 5 mins of the teller staring at the screen she hands me a receipt, i leave and get in my car, confident, that for her $10-$15/hr pay, she should be competent enough to atleast make a simple transaction. But no, as im driving away in my car i look at my account and find that less that half of my money was deposited. so i turn around, VERY pissed off that this new teller couldnt even read a simple number off a check, or atleast have the common courtesy to ask me what it said if she couldnt read it (it was extremely legible). Well all said and done, i went back complained and 20 mins later im out of there with my money finally in my account. They were attending other customers and made me wait in line again....

Today- Well same scenario, woke up with a check in my pocket and its payday.. I make my deposit and look at my receipt making sure it was made correctly. sure it was deposited but my available balance doesnt reflect so. i figure ill go home and check later. well, this was at 11 A.M, at around 5:30 i checked again. To begin with, washington mutuals website now transfers me straight to chase. I soon realized that my check still wasnt available and became VERY impatient. So i call wamu and what do you know? CHASE. i speak to a representative and explain my situation... his response?

CHASE Dbag on the phone- (it takes 2-3 business days for us to process your check)

Me- wtf? the check was cleared for 2day, with WAMU it was cleared and made available instantly..

CHASE Dbag on the phone- (sorry sir, your account is now with chase, please allow 2-3 business days for your check to clear)

Me- great, expect to lose ALOT of business with your practices chase..

Well Fyou chase! im headed to my nearest bank of america to transfer my funds. (i know their not angels either) but atleast they dont make you wait 3 fing days for your paycheck to clear!

Well, this has been coming for a long, long time since WAMU became the largest thrift failure in history.

Forget BOA and set up an account with a local or regional bank. Absolutely no reason to bank with one of the big banks.

reason i LOVED wamu is,
1-i can make a deposit late night with their atms,
2- there's a wamu around every corner
3- NO FEES AT ALL!!! besides overdraft's, but thats expected..
4-every walgreens in FL has a wamu ATM, if there isnt a wamu, there sure as hell is a walgreens, with an ATM i can use at no charge.

local banks cant provide anything near that quality

Re: wamu becomes chase. F*ck u!

Sorry about what you've had to go through so far with the transition. I work for Bank of America so I'll let you know that I've always been very pleased with the level of service I've received but there's one thing you may want to know before transferring your funds over. The Campus Edge checking accounts we used to offer, are from what I understand, being discontinued and will now be the My Access checking accounts where u need to have at least $1000 in your account OR a direct deposit to avoid a monthly service charge. I'm not 100% that all of this has taken effect yet bank wide but def. ask your local personal banker at BOA which checking account service would best suit your needs Local banks are not a bad idea either but I've been banking and working at BOA for almost 5 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Just my 2 cents though. Hope everything works out for you.

is it for new customers? I currently have the Campus Edge account...and I have nowhere near 1000 bucks in it. It's kind of hard for me to use local banks since I'm constantly in Detroit and Battle Creek. Maybe I should check out Comerica and see what they offer. I had chase, and they were good at first, but then they hired some morons at the location I went to and we ended up closing my account. They wouldn't let my mom deposit checks into my account that were written out to me because I wasn't there. Luckily my mom was friends with the manager there and would just go to her and have her do it.

I also have a chase credit card (used for gas mainly since I get 3 or 5% per transaction), but recently I was charged a late fee because I never received my original statement and when I called they said that they couldn't take off the late fee because they never got the statement returned back to them. So I'm looking for a new credit card now. I've had it for 3 years and have NEVER made a late payment and always pay off my entire statement each month, but they couldn't take off a freaking 40$ late fee because I never got (and still don't have) my statement. :x

Cleverly disguised as a responsible college student...
