Wireless PC to TV

Anybody has any experience with wireless PC to TV systems?

I see that there are not really that many options on the market. The problem is that I have my LCD TV in my living room and then my personal laptop in another room that is basically my office at home. I have lots of stuff on my external hard drive which I would love to watch on my TV. Iím also lately watching movies and tv series directly from Netflix but to do so I have to disconnect my laptop from its usual place and then connect it to my tv and then the same for when Iím done watching movies. Lately I have been doing this almost every single day.

I know that there has to be at least one good product on the market that is able to send video and audio wirelessly from my pc to my TV with at least a decent quality.

Thanks,

Re: Wireless PC to TV

I am not aware of any products, though there might be.

For the Netflix, most of the Blueray players out there will hook up to netflix through an internet connection (Samsung, I think LG). They have an ethernet port on the back. My panasonic doesn't (only Viera vision, or whatever), but my wife's laptop is also 6ft from our TV so if we wanted to we could hook it up that way.

You could have your wireless router by the TV with an ethernet line to the blueray player to get it connectivity that way and you still have a connection for your laptop wirelessly.

Just a thought.

Something like this?

The DMA from Uptek International Co. Ltd is a Wi-Fi digital media player that wirelessly transmits movies, music and photos from a PC to a TV set. It supports MPEG-1/2/4, AVI, XviD, JPEG and major audio formats.

Re: Wireless PC to TV

I'm mostly looking to the be able to control the computer from the TV, that way I can watch what's on my hard drive, Netflix or any other internet tv (e.g. ESPN 360, etc.). I know there is a video on Youtube showing this but I'm at work so I don't have access to Youtube. About the Xbox and the PS3 I don't have either one of those so that is not an option for me (I'm not really into video games )

Re: Wireless PC to TV

The PS3 is coming down in price. It has a built in web browser, server capabilities, and one of the best blu-ray player on the market and its completely wireless, WIFI built in and blue tooth controllers. That why I bought mine, the video games were just a bonus. Plays pretty much ALL formats of video, music, and photo.

Re: Wireless PC to TV

Have you looked into Roku? Might not help with the files currently on your computer.......but should help with your Netflix viewing.

This is what I was talking about, I just wanted to see if somebody around here had any experience with a setup like that.

check this site out:

I've bought from them a few times. Im pretty sure they have wireless VGA and DVI/HDMI stuff. It's kinda pricy though...you might be better off building a HTPC
