Lunatic ravings from Iran

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/meast/...dor/index.html

Now the CIA shot her? Also shot in the head from behind when the video fairly clearly shows her being struck in the cheast?

Seriously, I really wonder if any of these Iranian spokespeople actually stop and listen to themselves. I am sure a small group of really nutso gov't supporters believe what the gov't mouth pieces are spouting, but I'd suspect even a lot of gov't supporters hear what is coming from their gov't and thinking it is crazy.

The gov't there is starting to sound more and more like the DPRK nut jobs.

Oh lets not forget http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31564910...ideastn_africa

I guess their new slogan is death to the Americans and death to our own citizens who contest the obviously rigged election.

I don't know, their sayings are getting awfully cumbersome.

Oh, I also like how one gov't spokesperson says it was the CIA who done it (or maybe terrorist elements or another foreign spy agency) to forment dissent and anti-gov't sympathies and then here is a senior cleric of the assembly of experts saying the protesters should be put to death and that it was the protesters themselves who killed Neda. Oh, also Iranian State TV is now aparently saying it wasn't 20 people killed in the last big demonstration, it was 8 basiji militiamen killed by the protesters.

You think they could at least get their story straight from day to day?

PS Not that it means much, but Russias foreign minister is actually expressing concern over everything now.

Re: Lunatic ravings from Iran

I find it funny how the Iranians have shifted all their blame off to the Brits now. Guess we can call them Baby Satan.

The regime is quickly losing its legitimacy and there are finally very powerful people that are rethinking the status quo....

As far as the Russians go, read a good article comparing all the coverage of the protests/election in different countries. A Russian commentator says that it seems strange to them. Why? Because in Russia, elections are engineered, not rigged

Re: Lunatic ravings from Iran

Well yeah. I think Iran would have had a much better job of it if they had just engineered their elections. Vote rigging tends to end badly and is often pretty transparent...especially when you go FTMFW instead of inching someone out (I mean the candidate losing by a lot in their home area? Many, many places having a lot more votes then registered voters? Come on man, this shit is elementary). Engineering them however and you can do whatever you want and it looks almost completely legitimate.

Or at least it does to more of the world and the populace.

Yeah, something like 50 provinces had more votes than registered voters. Yet they come out today and say this was the "healthiest" election since the revolution.

Like you, I can't believe they decided to shoot for a 30 point margin of victory

Well I guess that is what happens when you give the project to the intern.

Fricken interns.
