A STORY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

I would just like to share something im completely against with yall drunk driving. Ok so ive been in a bad accident that im lucky to alive from even though i walked away without a scratch, but recently i went to look at an s2k naturally mom was like i dont want him to have it told the sales guy that i rolled a car. blah blah blah anyway he told me god had a plan for me yeah im religious get over it he said you may not know what it is yet but he does. well anyway a few days ago i found out 16 years later what exactly killed my grandfather, and so now i think i know what his plan for me is.

Anyways, my grandfather was killed in a car accident. He was hit head on by a drunk driver. My uncle was in the truck sitting next to him and he walked away with some stitches on his chin. The past 16 years i was under the impression that the impact killed him. I was wrong. he took a steering wheel to his chest in which his heart was split in half. another thing i was under the impression of was they pulled him out of the car no problem. Yet again i was wrong they had to cut pieces of him off to get him out of the vehicle.

Because of this guys poor decision to get in the car after drinking. I lost the person i was closer to than i was anyone else at the time. I just dont understand how someone can do something like this knowing what could happen. I mean you can go out spend all this money on alcohol but yet wont fork out another 30 dollars on a cab or even make a phone call for someone to come get you and im sure you all have someone that would be willing to take you back to your car the next morning.

So im begging all of yall to read/listen to this story and pass it on to everyone you know. Is killing someone really worth saving 30 dollars? Is it worth that one night of fun to kill yourself or spend the rest of your life in jail? Even if you've had just one if you get in an accident they will hold it against you even if you were under the limit. and idc what anyone says if you've had one it affects you i dont care about how great your tolerance is it still slows your reactions down.

Go on call me a pussy call me a fag say im a whiney little bitch i dont care. If i can just get through to one person and help save one life then this is worth it. I hope some of you will really listen and make better decisions. But please listen to this story. I dont want anyone to have to go through what i have with this.

Thanks.

EDIT: for future i will be taking my friends keys from them even if it causes a fight and i get my ass beat at least if something happens to them i know i did everything possible to try to stop them.

AND PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!!!

Re: A STORY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

totally agree. i've stated my opinion o drunk driving several times on the forums, including in the argument threads...

i cannot understand how people complain about the Middle East wars and 3000 deaths when 125,000 have died in the US in alcohol related accidents during that same period. get a grip people and choose your battles wisely. those 125k people were not fighting for freedom or anything....they are victims of selfish stupidity.

Re: A STORY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

i feel you

i will never understand why people do it but they do. its sad cause most people learn the hard way... getting caught or getting in a accident.

and dont worry about what people may say...... you are sharing something very personal and in hopes that it helps someone out.... your doing a good thing, be very proud

even tho it was 16 years ago... sorry for your loss, keep him in your heart and remember his glory..

take care

Re: A STORY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

people don't leave my house drunk if they are driving. i have a portable breathalyzer.

and i'm not kidding either...i don't just talk sh*t about something.
although tbh, i take it to other friends' parties more than i entertain at home

Re: A STORY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

touching story man. very true. almost all of us has lost someone we know to drunk driving. Either being hit by one or being the one.

My Girlfriend's mom lost her dad when he had been drinking one night. Her entire family hasn't been close since.

Thankfully, I haven't lost anyone close to me via drunken driving, but it can happen to anybody. Just think before you drink guys.

Re: A STORY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

Thanks for sharing your story. It's never cool to drive drunk.  I was told that when my older sister and I were little, my dad was coming home from work and a group of teenagers in a vehicle were speeding, ran a red light and slammed into him. My dad ended up in the hospital.  The teenagers had just graduated and decided to "party." All the teens were drunk. I'm so thankful that my dad is alive and that God was watching over him.
