Need new car (addition to family) - help us pick (poll)

Yes, baby on board!

We have two cars: my MZ3 (which is going nowhere, here are pics if you're interested http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=141784.0) and a Honda s2000 (has to go..). So yes... replacing the s2k's requirements: RWD (preferably) or AWD, with back seats, power and style. His past cars have almost always been 2-seater RWD cars, so it'll be a big change no matter what Note that the MZ3 will likely be our primary family car.

Keeping the s2k isn't an option at this point, he'll already keep the sportbike (Aprilia RSV)..

We sat in a new RX-8 R3 at the dealership the other day.. looked and felt great. Another alternative would be an EVO X.

Help by voting, and/or let me know what else you'd consider. Unfortunately, he's not all that into the WRX (I don't particularly like the look of the new ones either..).

RX-8, EVO, or...? And no, no SUV or minivans pls Somebody on the s2k forum suggested that, but luckily somebody else responded saying we were having a kid, not a lobotomy hahah.

Thanks!
~Stefanie

Well, Crossovers are good vehicles for families, it's not really consider an SUV, but a CUV,lol.

What is the price range you are shooting for?

+1. If you want something smaller than the SHO (full-size sedan), maybe something like a 2007-2008 Infiniti G35 sedan or a 2009 G37 sedan. Coupe versions of those would work as well.

Just my $0.02. You did mention the EVO X, so these would fit into a similar price range.

Fords aren't on our list, sorry... that goes for the GT 500 and the Taurus

Hah, price range, good question.. <30k-ish. We are hoping to get good deals in the fall, which is when we're looking to trade.

ha test driver one, if you can't appreciate a twin turbo v-6 you dont belong in a sport car. And if its not fast enough put likr 3 grand into it, i bet you could easily hit 400whp. Thats an evo killer

In that case, the G35/G37 get my top vote. Not sure if you could haggle down an '09 that far but the 2007/2008 models should fit into that range.

I just thought of another option - look around for a late-model Subaru Legacy 2.5GT SpecB. That's a midsize sleeper car along the same vein as the Taurus SHO. Grocery getter looks/functionality with a beast under the hood.

Yeah G35/37 would be awesome to have. I know this is a bit far, but ive read many people turbo charging those things to atleast 500whp.

From your poll options, id have trouble turning down an EVO personally.
