Could someone clarify my insurance?

Well I just got my new paperwork for my insurance and I actually read some of it, lmao. Well I was just wondering if someone could clarify the collision and other than collision parts. It says "actual cash value less deductible". What's that mean?

Re: Could someone clarify my insurance?

From what I'm seeing, that is what they are charging you per policy term. So, hopefully, you're paying 656.00 a year for Collision, and 254.00 per year for 'other' (I have no clue).

If it's for 6 months...Then Holy Crap!!!!

Yeah, I mean what does the cash value thing mean? Like no matter the accident they pay the cash value of the car? Or what?

And yep, that's 6 months.... I'll make a quick scan of my driving record here in a little bit. lol.

"Other than collision" would be vandalism or hail or damage that isn't caused from being in an accident. I don't know if you want to, but to try to save money maybe a $1000 deductible would lower your rates?

Re: Could someone clarify my insurance?

Well considering I just got into an accident I'm going to leave my insurance alone for now.

BTW, once again I'm asking about the "Cash Value Less Deductible" What does that part mean?

Why don't you just call your agent/insurance provider generic 800 number and ask them, and get the right answer...right away.

Cos they're closed.

I didn't think this would be so difficult of a question... But w.e. Thanks for the help so far, and I guess just let the thread sink to the bottom.

So if you total your car (God Forbid), and they paid you 14,000 for the car. You would get a check for 13,500.

That is the minus deductible.

On the other hand, you're at Ft. Lewis yes? Best get yourself a better agent and stay the hell off I-5! Take all the back roads you can.

I know you can get from Tacoma to Mt. Vernon via back roads except for one half mile run up the hill above Arlington. I was too lazy to go around.

That's about what I pay for 6 months, but mine covers 2 cars and 2 drivers, and the coverage is a shit-ton better

Maybe I'm just old. But I pay $440 every 6 months for Full Coverage on my 06 Mazda3 and Full coverage on my 91 Subaru Loyale (Zee Beater Vagon!).

I'm just shocked at how someone could afford premiums such as these. Granted, I'm 28 years old with two kids and nothing on my record.

I couldn't afford to drive if I had to pay those rates.
