New Engines for 2011 Mustangs (56k Death)

So i have been tracking the changes on the new mustang since I first knew that ford would be stepping their game up. Adding Sync to the mustangs upgrading the interior...and looks...upgrading the suspension and last but not least.... developing the new Coyote engine for production in their trucks and the mustang...

Im sure a few of ya all have kept up with the mustang and how the new mustang is more "refined" and for 2010 can even keep up with the 370z...close at least not on par but for the price...get a pair of coilovers and show nissan what ur made of lol.

Bellow is the entire article but if you dont want to read it ill just say it outright. The new engine is a 5.0L Aluminum double overhead cam (lighter than the current 4.6...substantially) 32 Valve V8 rated around 400HP and 400Ft/tq.

Oh and dont let me forget... they are talking about putting the v6 eco boost engine in the stang too... :-D

Can you tell im excited?

All i know is that ford putting out a lighter....faster....more powerful ...much much more refined Mustang at the same price point is going to make the very very competitive even with some of the more luxo brands.

Here are some pics of the 2010 mustang... not the one with the 5.0 but a good idea of what it looks like if you havent seen it...

I saw a 2010 the other day when I took my Fusion in for an oil change. If I can get a 400HP Mustang GT for about the same price as they are now when my lease is up, its going to make my decision a lot more interesting.

Every time I hear 400hp Mustang GT and i think about the current pricing i get super excited since that is the price range for my next car. That or if Mazda Finally releases their 16X rotary in a new rx8 or something to that effect... I would be down with that... a 350hp rx8 or a lighter 250-300hp rx8... im thinking maybe a 2600lb 300hp rx 8 lol.... yeah right... but at least a 3000lb 350hp rx 8 would be nice... :-D

Re: New Engines for 2011 Mustangs (56k Death)

FINALLY. What should have been done, come 2005. Power levels sound good, beef up the susp. and tranny to handle it and it sounds bulletproof! Work the kinks out in the first year or two. I'd probably hit that up come 2013 or so.

I'll take the 5.0 w/ a Kenne Bell S/C in all black please...and about 12 sets of tires.

Re: New Engines for 2011 Mustangs (56k Death)

I disagree. While stock vs stock a 'vette will outperform the 'stang, there is just a HUGE aftermarket for the mustangs, dating back to the 87-93 fox bodies. hell, companies are STILL developing products for those cars.

a vette is more cash and easily worth it considering the bump in performance and sex appeal, but the stang is simply more fun to own because you can mod the everloving shit out of those cars.

Re: New Engines for 2011 Mustangs (56k Death)

plenty of mods for Corvettes too, not as much as whats available for a Mustang but honestly thats the difference in the price of the cars...when shit is designed properly from the factory it doesn't leave the aftermarket much room to come in and improve.
