I've had the new G1 for a month now and I enjoy the phone. But while driving around with it, it's a real pain to find a spot to put it. If I keep the phone in my pocket, I can't hear the ringer, so I miss the call. Even if I have it on the cupholder, or on the seat, sometimes I miss the call because I have the Bose up or the phone is on vibrate.
I've checked out some mounts, like this one, http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI...Car+Mount.html
, but these mounts are bulky and unsightly. Leg room is at a premium in my MS3. Plus I don't want a mount hanging from my windshield or big enough to draw the attention of a thief.
But I've got to find a solution because sometimes I miss important calls, or this phone is going to flying off the seat like a tomahawk during an episode of heavy braking.
I've even considered small pieces of velcro on the dash, to the right of the radio controls, with velcro on the back of the phone. Might look cheesy on the phone though. My ultimate goal is to snake a wire from the auxiliary jack in the center console, between the center console and the passenger seat. So when I have the phone mounted I can easily listen to music from the G1.
I'm looking for ideas. What kind of solutions have you guys come up with for positioning your phone for good visibility in your 3?
