Re: Tail of The Dragon 09

I've been with the S2Ki group for Wake the Dragon and I went a few weeks ago on a secret vacation A lot of fun and I would definately be interested in going with my own "people".

I actually enjoy the Cheraholla (butchered spelling...too lazy) Skyway more than the Dragon itself. It's too easy to get stuck behind traffic there.

With that said, I would like to propose booking a block of rooms/cabins at Fontana Village. Very warm people and the place is great. I know if you want to book a lot of cabins, it takes a decent heads up so planning should start immediately. If we can get even a small group of about 20, I'd still like to go. Maybe a long weekend of Friday - Sunday.

Yea that's the place, I couldn't remember but yea I hear the skyway is amazing. You should definitely come out we have people from over 10 states coming to this thing.

As for rooming we looked into Fontana Village and it is nice and does cater to large car groups but we didn't feel we'd have the freedom we were looking for. We actually booked a house in Robbinsville, 13 miles from The Dragon and 7 Miles from The Skyway. There will be 20+ people staying there and anyone is welcome to stop by hangout do whatever with us there we'll make that the HQ for the meet.

The itinerary isn't complete yet but Saturday evening we'd like to have everyone over at the house we're having a bbq. Be a great time for everyone to meet wind down relax have fun eat some food and have some drinks.

We will be there from Wed morn (10th) to Sun morn (14th) In the next few weeks we'll have more info on the car show and itinerary. We will also email contact info.

I'd recommend registering on that site. There you get updated info chat it up with people and see who's from your area set up caravans

I guess it would make the most sense to find a hotel/lodge close to the "HQ House" since I hate cramming in with a giant group of people. Not that Mazda people smell funny or anything... I'll get in touch with you about planning and what not.
