What are you quirks regarding your car?

I feel like I've seen this on this forum before, but I might be making that part up. Point me in the right direction if this is the case

What weird things do you do while driving, or before or after driving? Keep your goofy inappropriate stuff to yourself ... I really want to know what kinds of obsessive compulsive tendencies you have about your car, and little things you do that are perfectly logical to you but other people laugh about.
For example, if I'm driving and want the windows open, all four go down, and they have to be down the same distance. I developed this tendency when I drove a car with manual windows and just left them down most of the time, but have continued it since I sold that car. Another thing I do is I always put the key in the ignition with the 'M' logo facing me. I picked this up from an old roommate who made me turn his car off because I'd put the key in the wrong way.

Keep it going! Tell everyone about the weird habits you have with your car!

big 3 / grounded TB / Optima Red / Alpine 9857 / 10w3 / clear lens 5000k's / smoked reflectors / LED puddle lamps / blue interior LED's / LED interior kit / smoked LED 3BL / pro-kit / koni yellow's / blacked out headlights / ccfl angel eyes / cosmo sri / oem spoilers
soon: projector fogs / ram air / darkstar crank / vcts /sways
eventually: led tails / gt spec chassis bracing / other stuff

Re: What are you quirks regarding your car?

I drive an automatic, and i ALWAYS put the car into neutral first, then pull the handbrake, let go of the brakes, shut off the car, then step on the brakes and put the car into park.

When I'm about to go, I ALWAYS put the car into gear before releasing my handbrake

If my AC is on, I ALWAYS shut it off about 1 minute or two before i get to my destination, and just let the fan blow. My sister says if I don't, the next time i turn on the AC, it'll smell... And you know what? I think she's right.

If i'm in a traffic jam, I put the car in manual mode and select the gears so I'm always hovering at about 2,000rpm. So when there's room, I can just jet off. Also, i HATE the kickdown mode.

When i park my car on the streets, I always fold the driver side mirror in. I dont care how wide the street is. I developed this habit because I live in the Sunset District of San Francisco, where 90% of the resident is Asian. [I'm Asian too, and I know how shitty we drive, we lack common sense and most of us just don't pay attention and, well stupid when it comes to driving]

I also put the M logo facing me when i put the key into the ignition.

Re: What are you quirks regarding your car?

I get in my car and curse the automatic climate control every time.

I leave trash all over the car, but if my wife does it I get mad.

I always have to park in an end spot (in my head, that leaves only one side open to dings).

I park in the exact same spot every day at work although we have no assigned spaces (yes, I'm OCD).

No matter who is in the car with me, they are forced to listen to my boring talk radio.

Re: What are you quirks regarding your car?

speed bumps are the devil.. theres a small (but growing) shopping center a couple miles from my house. these speedbumps they put there are ridiculous! i creep up to them (< 1mph), inch up on them, and still coming down i smack the frame of the car on the top of the bump because they are shaped like ^
