Kanye West - 808 and Heartbreak

I've listened to some of the released tracks... AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE ALBUM TO DROP!

Seriously, I dont think you'd have to a fan of hip hop to appreciate his next album.

i just hope when the album drops there are other quality joints other than love lockdown and heartless.

kanye went all out autotune on this one...the verdict on that is still pending.

Re: Kanye West - 808 and Heartbreak

I think he pulls it off quite well. Even though T-Pain started to popularize autotune, I think he killed it. Because in almost all of his songs, he sounds like a damn chainsaw. Also, it doesn't help that all T-Pain talks about is bars/clubs and picking up girls and that booty.

Kanye's use of autotune isnt as dramatic, and his lyrics are deeper and it tells a story. (Something about Chicago rappers, they tell really good stories with their songs. Common, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, J Ivy)
Quality joints? I'd recommend "Coldest Winter", "Amazing", and "Street Lights"... These three are floating on the internet

Re: Kanye West - 808 and Heartbreak

You guys, this is by far the best album ever.

Also, I dont know why, I think the live version of "Love Lockdown" that premiered on MTV Music Award was the best version. I think it's because when I first heard it, it was so unique and it left a mark in my head...

I think the best track on that album is heartless > love lockdown > robocop> welcome.. > paranoid.
Rest of the tracks I'm not feeling it.

Re: Kanye West - 808 and Heartbreak

Not a fan of hip/hop/rap in general. I heard some tracks from the new album on NPR today and, as usual, the use of Autotune is for amateurs. It's one thing as a tool to give a particular track a sound, but to use it for the whole thing? Nah - it's a crutch. Plain and simple.
