Car got broken into at Whitten Bros. Mazda over the weekend

I got the call this morning that somehow over the weekend my car was broken into while it was at service over the weekend. Luckily, they didn't take the more important stuff, however, dual 10" enclosure with 10" Alpine Type-R's inside and Kenwood KAC-8103D...

broke the drivers side passenger window, folded down the 60 split of the seat ...cut and run....

Of course...

Where it was parked...

And the damage done... everything else is the way I left it...that hat is the way I left it and the front of the car was untouched

I filed a claim with my insurance...i assumed thats the only thing I could do with that big sign

however..any legal advice would be great but not if you are only assuming lets keep it to a high level of legitimacy.. thanks guys and gals

Is there any camaras in that parking lot? Was any of the items that were stolen visable from the outside?

You might want to speak with the dealer's insurance company, regardless of what the sign posted says.

from the sound it, that area is a hot spot for activities like this. The dealership should have increased their surveillance and notify customers verbally and visually of potenial theft. IMO go through with filing the claim, they still are at fault.

Looks like an inside job, like they knew exactly where to look and only had to break the window to make it look like a break-in. Then again I wasn't there, so I couldn't be sure. Sucks dude...

fuck. i feel like i shoudln't hvae filed a claim with my insurance. Can i abort this? Because now i think about it if you read the sign.. it doesnt sign damage TO the vehicle.... and STOLEN property (which was led to by damage TO (not IN) the vehicle)

Ask your insurance company to put the claim on hold, if you decide you want to.
