... what a great forum...

So what was wrong with that thread regarding the election?

This is getting ridiculous. If you're going to start censoring shit. Why not have an "approval" section before we post shit.

Or how about this? We'll only discuss whatever you guys feel like discussing. We're too newb to be creating our own threads.

Re: ... what a great forum...

Its because people get crazy when it comes to politics and things of that nature. 1 person says something the other person doesnt like... and its just downhill from there. Its a huge issue, yes! But still, people just take it overboard sometimes. Thats my .02 cents.

Re: ... what a great forum...

I have to say, that if the admins want to not discuss politics, A. put it in the TOS that everyone has to agree to when signing up, and B. enforce the policy in an at least somewhat consistent manner. If it's going to be no politics ever, then don't take it even for a second. Lock that thread down right away rather than let it go for a while, then decide that if people want to discuss it they have to pay to get access to the Black Hole.

Re: ... what a great forum...

This is bigger than the elections. We should have the right to discuss ANYTHING. There is a difference between regulation and dictation.

Oh what? Am I out of line? Go ahead, ban this thread too.

Regarding the heated discussions, there are tons of sports related threads here. There are TONS of disagreement and heated discussion. Ban those too! I dont like the trade between Pistons and Nuggets, some people do. BAN THAT TOO!

Re: ... what a great forum...

Yeah but at least nobody in the sports threads is calling other people terrorists for their views I'm just saying consistency is the key to enforcing policy. If they don't want the members discussing politics, they can say don't start any threads that have anything to do with politics, if you really want to discuss that pay your way into the Black Hole and start it there. That's the policy on every other board I'm on, and it's worked out pretty well so far.

I dont believe in censorship. Pretty way to shut people up and filter what one thinks is relevant to the public and what may cause harm based on one biased belief.

Say what you will, but the discussions on the other boards I'm on with that kind of policy tend towards being more civilized than we generally see here.

Re: ... what a great forum...

Call me a cynic, but my bet is it's about money. The mods/owners want you to pay to access the black hole. Pretty sad. I've never been a part of a forum in all my time on the tubes that required payment to access certain areas. Considering the stability(or lack thereof) of this site, I'll certainly never pay a dime to access it. It seems to crash every other day.

See this is what im talking about. People taking it overboard. Your freaking out that something on the internet, on a car forum got deleted. I mean really dude! Calm down... go have a smoke, if you do that or something. Im sure theres tons of other things to be worried about than something getting deleted of yours on a car forum. Love how immediately, once something gets deleted. Its oh... my amendments.. my amendments!! Its like come on, lets get real here.
