college help, to drop out or not?

Let me start by saying, if you have nothing nice or productive to say, please leave this thread now.

I come from a very mixed family, my father is kind of an entrepreneur for his importing work between the U.S and areas of south america.
So the expectations have always been very high. I spent a whole year off between highschool and college because on my senior year in highschool, i would skip every day and decided it would be best to not enter college until i was ready to be serious. Now, i have been in college for a little over a year, and i am having a very difficult time. I am taking 4 classes and working full time, and its just not working out for me really. my grades are nowhere near where i want them to be and i cant just leave my job as i have a car financed and the intention to move in with the girlfriend of 2.5 years in the near future. Of course i want to have the finer things in life, and be able to give my kids the life that my father gave me... But everyday i ask myself.. is this worth it? why am i doing this? cant i just find another job that i can perhaps enjoy and end this cycle of misery? After all, ever since i was little i have just enjoyed the little things in life.. One of the people i work with is married and makes under $3000 a month. hes 37 and to be quite honest... i have never seen anyone so happy. I truly do believe that money is not everything.
i guess when it all comes down to it, it looks alittle something like this.

money now or money later?
Pleasing myself or pleasing my father?
Searching for what i like or having "that job every morning" ?
I used to love music, i actually played wrote 4 songs and taught them to a few friends in 2 weeks (bass, drums, guitar, lyrics) and we made it into a battle of the bands in my highschool which wasnt an easy task. But my father hated music, so i quit. And now i know that the girlfriend wouldnt really like me looking for a career in music eighter. So the next choice? cars, i love cars, i study them all day and enjoy it. But mechanics isnt my style, and i would love engineering, but i hate math.

sooo.... any suggestions? this isnt a pitty game, im just kind of lost and speaking to my father about this will just result in screaming both ways.
thanks in advance.

Dropping out of college in a horrible economic environment, FTL.

Seriously, is it really that large of price to pay to spend 4 years working hard for a lifetime of stability and prosperity? While a degree doesn't guarantee success by any means, living w/o one will sure decrease the doors open to you.

Short term pain<long term gain. Don't be so shortsighted.
