Who plays Battletech? (tabletop/PC/other)

I'm interested to see who on the boards has or does play battletech?

Any version of the game is acceptable, PC, tabletop, roleplaying or even Mechassault on the X-box.

Re: Who plays Battletech? (tabletop/PC/other)

I used to play Vengeance online, but never really with much seriousness. Plus my friend and I used to try and get into the same matches when we would be playing at my house but for some reason the game's network wouldn't let two different computers on my home network enter the same game.

2007 Mazda 3 S Sport 5-door, 2.3L ATX, Black Mica; Corksport SRI, CorkSport Exhaust, VCTS removal, Koni STR.T shocks, Racing Beat springs, Gram Lights T57-RC 18" wheels, Speedline blue wide angle heated mirrors

Re: Who plays Battletech? (tabletop/PC/other)

I've played all of the Mechwarrior games (1 through 4 mercs, yes I said 1). I've also played the table top, but not recently (maybe 4 or 5 years). I am sorely lacking in books and I've been searching around at some local hobby stores for used books to get my collection up and maybe see about roping a couple of my friends in to playing again.

I played Mech 2, then skipped up to Mech 4. Between 2 and 4 I had computers that were not very good to run games so I never really played anything more advanced than the mid-90s games.

I was a big fan of Mechwarrior from 2 onwards. It's a shame they haven't brought one out again with an updated graphics and physics engine, that'd be sick.

Titanium Grey HB 5 spd, ABS, Moonroof, Leather seats, Exel RS-GT 17x7.0 Hyperblack 225/45/17 Azenis RT-615, Racing Beat Front/Rear Sway + Endlinks, Mazdaspeed MSP3 Coilovers, 88 AWR Mount, Apexcone 6000k HID, I deturboed my car and removed my built engine. I'm now stock powertrain + an Injen.

Re: Who plays Battletech? (tabletop/PC/other)

I'm extremely lucky, my gaming group (~12 members) has been together for the better part of 20 years (I joined only 3-4 years ago) and they have all the original books for Battletech and a dozen or so other games.

We currently have a battletech (tabletop/hex based miniature game) league with 5 players. We created a hybrid advancement system based on the experience tables from Games Workshop's game Necromunda.

Rather than a series of 1 off games, the pilots earn experience which can get stat bonuses or skills. There are 5 factions (all inner-sphere) and each faction has common or rare mechs which have to be purchased.

If any of you guys have a group that wants to play the tabletop game let me know and i'll email you the rules we developed (current version is v3.4). ALOT of time and playtesting went into its current version and it plays very well.
