What would you recommend...

I'm in the market for a new car and have narrowed it down to 2 that I like a lot:

2002 Jaguar XKR Convertible
1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible

I like the Jag a bit more due to the age issue but the carrera has 8k less on the clock, both run similar numbers and both are convertibles to satisfy the wifee. what do you all think?

No contest, the Porsche. They are timeless whereas people trying to pimp older Jaguars just seem like posers, IMO.

Is that the 996 porsche?

That is a hard pick though, the XKR is very nice.

Re: What would you recommend...

Those seem like two different price ranges frankly..

I like the porsche for a true sports car with mid-engined fun!

HKS Intake, Mazdaspeed CBE, 35% tint, TWM Short Shifter/bushings, 18" Enkei Evo 5's, Yellow Fogs, 8000k 35w HIDs

rear engined. you fail

however, that interior is AWEFUL in the porsche. and that Jag is real pretty. plus it's cheaper and more powerful. i'd go with the Jag

Porsche (Por-sha)!

Got to go with the Porsche.
