Ultimate Street Car Challenge

the new issue of Sport Compact Car is due out any day now, does anyone have a favorite in this year's field? of course i assume most of you will be pulling for the boosted 3, but how well will the basically stock GT-R perform? and how about Z taken right off the screen of gran tursimo? will the little impreza with the STi transplant have what it takes? or will that audi quattro make it 2 in a row for ingolstadt with it's all around performance?

who you got?

Re: Ultimate Sports Car Challenge

does NO ONE read sport compact car? they take 10 entries to compete in their annual Ultimate Sports Car Challenge. this year, there is a mazda3 with a huge fucking turbo puttin down 400 whp and it's built for the drag strip. it claims it can run it in 7.2 seconds at 198 mph. really? no one?

Sorry my friend, I don't really follow the import scene stuff. Is just that I read that 7.2 @ 198mph and I got a bit confused. Just analyzed a little bit what you just said on the previous post and see if the numbers add up. 198 in 7.2 seconds? That is a really, really high mountain that you have to climb to get there.

I used to, I haven't had a subscription in about 3 years though. I'll have to check it out when they have the article up on their website.

it's not imports only. of course they do discuss them at length, but it's all makes and models. they are currently building a project 325i, and have also hinted at an old j body (think caveliers/sunfires) build up. and one of their most famous builds was their srt4 MONSTA project that outran vipers.

and i doubted the numbers as well, but that's what was printed. so that's all i have to go buy. but yeah, everybody go out and pick up a copy, it's one of the better car mags out there

I do agree with you, in fact an import is any type of product that is entered into a country from another country so that would make any automobile manufacturer from outside of the US an import (if you are looking at it from a US point of view). I was actually referring to the honda vtech auto show fast and the furious need for speed type of scene.
