Re: 2009 Ford Focus RS

Are you talking about the 2009 Lime Green Focus RS that has been making the rounds on car blogs? If so, you're first move is going to be to move to England, because that car is not coming here at all. That is the Euro Focus, which won't be making its way here until at least 2010.

Re: 2009 Ford Focus RS

The RS is coming to the US actually. But what does it matter when the New Mazdaspeed is going to be the same powerplant as well as the same suspension just reworked by mazda who has done a better job than ford anyways. GO with the mazdaspeed.

then wouldn't that make it a 2011, not a 2009?

**not on this forum and not unless its in a for sale thread.

The euro focus RS has NOT been announced for the USA at any time frame. However, the 2010 US focus WILL be using the same C1 platform as the euro focus. Also, while not officially announced yet, the 2010 ms3 most likely will be using an upgraded 2.5L DISI and NOT the volvo sourced T5 engine. Whether the next ms3 will use the revo knuckle from the RS is also unknown.

Who do you think actually designed and tuned the current C1 (3, euro focus, etc...) suspension? That would be ford. Mazda was responsible for body rigidity and volvo for saftey.

Re: 2009 Ford Focus RS

Like I said I remembered reading that it was just a couple years after it hit Euro so we will see.
And dont know what the last sentence was for because you just basically repeated what I said in more depth.

Re: 2009 Ford Focus RS

The next Focus will be the same in both Europe and N. America.

There are no plans to bring the RS to the states. There has been some speculation that an Eco Boost 4 might find its way under the hood of a performance oriented Focus.

Long time Focus owner that bought a Fusion recently because I needed something bigger. Now that I have the Fusion, it's hard to imagine driving a "small" Focus.
