Any Pilots? A&P Mecahnics?

Just Graduated with my my Airframe License. 10 hours of flight time in a 172sp. 2 hours of flight time in a Cirrus SR22. ^_^ Yep.

Going back to get my powerplant (I THINK) Im debating. My goal is to fly for the airlines. Iv wanted too ever since I was a little kid, never wanted to do anything else. My buddy just turned 23 and flys for express jet. I believe they fly ERJ's?

I used to fly professionally but work in dispatch for a cargo company now. If your dream is to fly for the airlines then pursue it with a passion. There are good ways to pursue it and bad ways to do it though. Many pilots have regrets in the choices they made. Also, the airline industry is cyclical in nature. Right now hiring in the airlines is really slow. Just a few years ago they would hire anyone with a pulse. Hopefully in a few more years things will be better again. Having a friend in the industry helps as he can give you advice and be a mentor.

Re: Any Pilots? A&P Mecahnics?

After my second flight as official traffic spotter/map locator/tracker/radio monitor and ballast extraordinaire (172's are sooo light!), I've decided to take flying lessons with my friend as a sponsor... Does that count?

Basic research is what I'm doing when I don't now what I'm doing -
