Would you rather?

Would you rather buy a car that has a big engine, like a V6/V8/V10 etc...or buy a car with a small 4 Cylinder Turbo? And not to compare apples to oranges, for example...

A VW GTI 1.8t or a VW R32 V6, they're so similar, but which would you choose?

Re: Would you rather?

for a car id never mess with, a car like the r32, good daily driver, linear power...yadyada
but for bolt ons and all that id go for the turbo, and just build it up to where its cost effective, the fmic, intake, downpip, exhuast, turbomani, intake mani, bigger turbo, and a stroke kit if it was avaliable, a tune and a bigger bolt on turbo....all that kinda stuff....if it was cost effective or if i was going to own it for a long time and i wouldnt mind it
but if i was building an all out power house kinda thing where money didnt matter, the r32 with all the goodies, there no replacement for displacement, specially when it comes to forced induction.

but also you can buy a v6 mustang and upgrade it with a blower, and make more power and handle better and be faster than a v8(wieght diff) for about the same cost...

it all comes down to what you want and what you plan on doing. buy a new v6 accord and do some minor bolt ons? or get the i4 and go all out with a turbo kit? buy a solstice with a 2.4 ecotec and drop a gm turbo or super on it? or just get the 2.0 turbo and upgrade it?

it just depends on what you want and what your going to do, like i personally would take the hyundai genesis coupe with the detuned 4b11t in it over the v6...why? cuz its just a detuned evox engine, and for less money and minor bolt ons you will be making more power than the v6

I never change my oil now that I'm boosted. Before I put on my stage 3, I had my engine teflon plated...it allows me to not use oil plus its guaranteed nonstick...

Re: Would you rather?

I think a V6 is middle ground and that's where I'd prefer. If the companies do it right, the gas mileage isn't so bad.

Re: Would you rather?

V6, I want power that's accessible as soon as I hit the accelerator. Turbos no matter how well tuned they are, are a series of compromises that I'm not prepared to live with if its my money buying the car.

and I'd def rather just get the big engine. way less hassle (unless you just enjoying tuning and all that stuff)

Re: Would you rather?

I'd take a 2.0T FSI over the R32 engine, just look at the Audi TT S or RS thats coming out. The 3.2 is dated now, the 3.6 on the other hand....gimme!
