Anyone gone through a foreclosure??

If you have please give me all the info you have. I am trying to sell mine but it's not going well. I have a foreclosure date of Nov. 11th. I am a bit worried......

Re: Anyone gone through a foreclosure??

Well that's what happens when you go from two incomes to one. I can't afford the home by myself. I too hope I sell it in time. Thanks

Re: Anyone gone through a foreclosure??

Sucks to hear Tiffany. We're currently trying to sell our house, but that's because we moved. What a freaking PITA it is. Make sure you have an agent who know everyone and will work super hard for you. So far we're pretty unimpressed by the people we have and will be switching up to someone a friend of ours suggested. They had five rental houses they were trying to unload, called this guy and in about two days were signing papers on lease-options to a couple of guys who were getting into investment renting. Just try asking around to see if there's anyone in your area who's fantastic at moving property before you get to the foreclosure point.

Are you looking to rent or own something a bit smaller? Either way if you can offer the old place up as a rental property and make back the mortgage payment amount each month that might work... my Aunt and Uncle did that with their old house when they couldn't sell.

Re: Anyone gone through a foreclosure??

Well I would rent another house for cheaper. I mean my mortgage is $1600.00 a month. I can't afford that alone or with a roommate.

it would be cool if someone bought my house for super cheap and then rented it to me. I would be all over that.

Just an FYI, I got duped into a similar arrangement with my rental property. Let's just say that after 8 months of legal battles and $4k in unreimbursed legal fees (beyond the judgments I was awarded), we're back to square one. Wish your friend better luck, but I bet he gets screwed, too.

Also, I hope the rental properties are paid for because if the mortgage companies catch wind of a lease/purchase option arrangement, they'll immediately call in the loan in full. Have fun with that...

Uh...no why? I like my house. Either way I will end up moving or renting an apartment or another house. So why not stay in my own place? It would have to be $950.00 or less and I would need a room mate to do this.

I think it was more of a "fat chance" or "don't hold your breath response", not questioning the actual logistics.
