tell me this doesn't bug you ...

i've had this happen several times, and it always bugs me but it's really pointless to argue it with someone. when someone gets a new car, or is talking about their car and you ask if it's a stick shift, and they say, "it can be both", it's hard for me not to lunge for their throat. a car can NOT be both a stick and an automatic ... a stickshift has a clutch and you change the gears yourself. a 'semi-automatic' trans car has no clutch but you can tell the computer when to shift instead of just point and squirt.
is this an issue for anyone else, or should i seek professional help???

Yeah I hate it when people tell me that too, a car is only a manual/stick shift if it has 3 pedals, if it's only got 2 it's an automatic that you can select gears on but it's NOT a true manual!

Like needmazda said, if you are letting this bother you to that extent, yeah, you need some help. Lighten up dude. I have an automatic, but I always drive it in tiptronic mode. Do I wish I had an actual manual? Yes. But my certain situation at the time that I needed a car didn't allow me to find one. I had to take what I could get. Just let it roll of your shoulder man, its not THAT big of a deal.
