Trade in for Speed3 or turbocharge an NA 3?

Just wondering what people think.

Trading in for a speed3 is easier, the tough work is done for you and the work is done right too.

Adding an after market turbo may be more cost effective than losing money by trading in to a stealership.

aaaaaaand..........discuss!

Re: Trade in for Speed3 or turbocharge an NA 3?

depends how mechanically inclined you are.

there are some people i would tell straight up trade in because they wouldnt know the first thing to check if (for example) they are driving and are getting 0psi of boost.

however if your inclined enough i would definitely build a regular 3. one plus is you can build it the way you want it and dont have to worry about extra payments and losing money on a trade in.

next guy will probably flame me and say im "wasting money and dumb for not trading in for a speed because its a better platform, etc. etc." happens every thread.

hmm i would definitely need to bone up on my forced induction knowledge.

Someone pointed out to me that I would also have change my transmission....5spd to 6spd...that ol' chestnut. I have speed3 oem exhaust installed already too.

100% false. there is no advantage to having a 6 speed other than ratio's. now, where they were probably going with that was that the mazdaspeed 3/6 have stronger tranny's that just so happen to be 6 speed.

do some reading in the FI section. you can learn (based on how much power you want to go for) what you will need to build up and with what parts.
