I fought the law and the law won :(

So I had trial by judge today for when I failed to yield to a emergency vehicle back in june. Long story short it was 930pm he was in the MIDDLE of the road with his lights on and no one near him. So we went around him at say 25mph in a 55 zone, my parents in front, me in the middle, and bro in his car in the back. He starts chasing and nails me.

So In court this SOB cop LIED to the judge. Saying he was on a traffic stop, and was about to get out of the car when I FLEW by. And that when he pulled me over he stated I said "I wasnt paying attention" That piece of shit. So I told my story on how he was in the middle of the road with his lights on and NO ONE near by. THEN I surprised everyone with a witness! The cop almost shit a brick, she slammed the cop with his lies, he stood there looking at the floor nodding his head in defeat. AND I LOST!!!! The judge threw the SCOTTS law at me and said It doesnt matter if hes in the middle of the road, in the grass, or sideways in the road I HAVE to slow down and move over. IS that not WHAT I did?

So in the end I lost, the cop lied got away with it, and now I have 1 year court supervision with a $230 fine. The state attorney was behind me when we were leaving and she heard every single word me and my witness (mother) had to say about him. The last thing she heard was "he will get his share later" I hope that asshole gets hit by a car. This cop did exactly what the cop down the street said he would do, LIE.
So if your ever in boone county IL run because they are corrupt.

That shit's annoying man. I had a case with a cop where he pulled me over for not signaling going to the next lane which was about 3:30 in the morning, with NO ONE around. Pissed me the fuck off. I feel for you, what goes around comes around.

So if no one is around we dont have to use our signals? Apparently someone was around since he pulled your ass over.

Of course in MD you aren't required to use your signal to change lanes unless you are within a certain distance of another vehicle (50ft I think). You always are required to signal to make a turn however.

That being said I always signal when I change lanes and I almost always signal when I turn. Sometimes if I am in a turn only lane sitting at a light I'll not have my turn signal on...but I generally remember even then.

Yeah I am waiting on my court date for my 78 in a 40 zone (October 3rd, just got the court date). Should be interesting since I was going 52 in the 40 zone at the time. 3 blue 4 door sedans including mine and the officer was sitting a quarter mile away...I'd have trouble telling my MZ3 apart from a late model dark blue 4 door civic and a late model 4 door camry at that distance (hell the shades of blue are pretty darned close even). Oh yeah, and the fastest person around was going about 52mph (we all were) and it merged to 1 lane right after the 40mph sign (was 55 right before it).

I have a slew of pictures from the location plus a nice long list of what to ask the cop (what time of day was it? Would you agree that this is rush hour? Were there a number of cars driving by when you instigated the traffic stop? About how far away would you say I was when you identified my car as the one speeding? Weren't there 2 other late model dark blue 4 door sedans on the road with my car, one in front and one behind me? Weren't there also 3 other vehicles within 50 yards of my car on the road at the time? Doesn't the road merge from 2 lanes to 1 shortly after the speed limit sign? Wouldn't it be nearly impossible for me to have been traveling nearly double the posted speed limit and successfuly merged to 1 lane with everyone going the speed limit? If I have to I'll whip out things like I had my cruise control set at the speed limit (55) before I hit the 40 sign and had turned it off and was slowing down (true)).

We'll see what happens. If I lose I am damned well appealling the decision and I'll get a traffic attorney then. No way I am going to choke on a $290 and 5 pt ticket for something I wasn't doing (okay, a 12mph speeding ticket maybe, but 38mph...no Fin way).

That's retarded corey. I can moderately understand the judges ruling, but the cop should still be punished.

I really feel like, even if it is as 'simple' as a traffic court lie the cop needs to be punished. It isn't okay to do that sort of thing. If it is discovered that a cop is lying they should be reprimanded (and if repeated punished or terminated) and I think lying under oath is worse and should be an official reprimand and punishment...possibly termination and criminal charges if we are talking about a criminal trial (well, okay technically traffic court is a criminal trial, but I wouldn't count it as one).
