Small Time Pot Dealer. Turned Police Informant, Dead. Cops fault?

Saw this on Digg today. The story royally pissed me off. It's amazing what people can get away with hiding behind a badge. It's because of events like this, I think the punishments for petty weed charges should be all-together thrown away, and I've never smoked in my life. Here's a quick blurb and the video to the story below. What do you guys think?

Quote:
Small-time Tallahassee pot user Rachel Hoffman dealt a little weed to her friends. But when she was arrested, she had to choose between prison and working as an informant. Bullied by police into setting up a deal for cocaine, ecstasy and a gun, Rachel was in way over her head. It led to her brutal murder.

Thats bullshit she died for getting busted for pot why dont they find a way to tax it make it legal and everyone is happy? for the most part i side with cops because they do a crappy job and get no respect but do you think they would let that happen to one of their own?

You could be a redneck if you were just married and you have nothing but empty Skoal cans strung from your bumper as you leave the church.

Yeah, I've never done it either and I think it ought to be legal.

1. Fewer people will do it because it's no longer illicit and therefore "cool"
2. The FDA would be able to regulate quality/purity so there would be less lacing
3. The feds could tax it like tobacco
4. Would ease the burden on the prison system and law enforcement agencies which are already overtaxed

Win/win/win/win.

you can't tax something people can grow in their yard or house, or it would be hard to...

I think that story is terrible, but if you're not a drug dealer and a snitch...this wouldn't happen.
the fact that she would trade another dealer's freedom for her own, under pressure or not...doesn't reflect well on her.

+1 if you do a crime be prepared to do the time but the cops should not have used her undercover thats what we pay cops for
