POLL*********** UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE

I am personally against universal healthcare but I wanted to ask the question to get your views please do not turn this into McCain or Obama bashing there is enough of that but please give explanation why you voted the way you did

You could be a redneck if you were just married and you have nothing but empty Skoal cans strung from your bumper as you leave the church.

I have not paid much attention to the whole Universal Healthcare debate. Who pays for it, the taxpayers of America?

I mean no hard feelings for what I post on this website. Anything I type/write/post/say on this forum is only that of general debate and discussion. I am not biased toward anyone or anything. I am neutral in everything I do on this website. Only those facts that are presented to me sway my thought process and siding of each discussion topic that I post about.

Yes your taxes would go up, but then again you'd never pay another penny to the insurance companies or hospitals.

If you cannot afford healthcare for your children, you shouldn't have any.

True, but you wouldn't have to pay for health insurance, which can get pretty outrageous. No payments, no deductible, no claims getting denied. You get hurt, you go to the hospital, they fix you, you leave. End of transaction.

I personally think this would be a good idea if it were implemented properly, but I don't see it happening as it would force a lot of insurance companies to close up shop and they would be out billions of dollars. These companies would lobby heavily against this and money talks.

Re: POLL*********** UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE

After my dad retired my mom lost her insurance. My dad is covered by the VA and to obtain insurance for my mom would be over 2k per month. They can't afford those types of premiums. My moms tried to stay healthy until she's eligible for Medicare in 4.5 years but a few weeks ago she had to go to the emergency room and was in the hospital for 2 days. Now they have a 30k hospital bill to try and pay. They're in negotiations to try and lower the bill.

At the end of the day my parents will be okay financially however most Americans who fall into my moms position end up having to file bankruptcy and lose everything they've worked so hard for. It's really unfortunate.

that is why I am against it not because I care about the companies themselves but because of the people they employ what happens to them?
