Worst Rental Car?

I had to drop off my Fusion for some work and the dealer was out of loaner Tauruses. They sent me to Enterprise and they hooked me up with a PT Cruiser. (I was supposed to get an Aveo Hatch, but they "upgraded" me). All I know is that I will never buy one of those POS. The "console" was on the floor, and I see old people driving it all the time so I'm wondering how comfortable it is to constantly reach down to get a can or cup, not to mention safety. The engine noise was terrible and every time I was braking under 30MPH or turning there was a loud noise from the engine bay.. The seats were hard and it was like sitting on a milk crate with a piece of plywood screwed on as the backrest. The only thing that I liked was the back lighting on the gauges and the headroom (No moon roof on mine, could be why). Next time get a car from them I'm asking for the Aveo Hatch or the Mustang that seems to never get rented...

Cleverly disguised as a responsible college student...

Re: Worst Rental Car?

When I had to get my 3 fixed, the dealership gave me a free rental at enterprise for all the cars that are around the same price as the 3, but I saw a g35 and ended up paying a little more out of my own pocket to rent that instead.

Re: Worst Rental Car?

I had a PT Cruiser as my last rental also, it was for one day and it was literally the last thing they had. You're right about the quality and the lack of power, ridiculous.

Re: Worst Rental Car?

I have an '04 PT Cruiser 2.4L Turbo and it's pretty quick. It took some getting used to the console, but it's not that difficult. (I actually prefer it for large drinks; prevents my arm from hitting them!) I also love the cargo space with the rear seats removed. That's how I transport my 12" dob telescope when I don't want to use my Silverado. Really, no complaints for me there.

The worst rental car for me was a Nissan Versa. It had a terrible ride, felt like a plastic model car on the inside, and was extremely slow. I couldn't imagine driving that thing on the freeway regularly. Second worse had to be a Hyundai Sonata or Chrysler Sebring... Other than model car plastic interiors, both V6 models felt like I4s and handled like crap.

Kia Rio, 4 very pissed of hampsters under the hood of that beast, putting out a whopping 98 horsepower. Imagine going from a car with over 300whp to that. Yeah, pretty lame.

Re: Worst Rental Car?

Last rental was a 2008 Jeep Liberty 4x4 3.7L. Not bad had some kick to it. 90$ gas tanks were really brutal . Glad I got my 3 back.

Re: Worst Rental Car?

When I was getting the transmission on my old 3 fixed, I rocked a Dodge Neon. And after I got rear-ended and got my bumper fixed, I was given a Buick Lucerne I felt so old driving it. I requested a Charger but they didn't have any so they gave me another car that was in the "Full Sized" category

**not on this forum and not unless its in a for sale thread.

Yeah, those things=no way, no how.

No offense to our Fusion brethren. But really.
