Mac Users: Help me pick an iSync-compatible GSM phone

I'm done with "Swiss Army" knife phones. I want something basic that excels at talking & texting. But first, it has to work flawlessly with OS X's Address Book and iCal. Whether the iSync compatibility is native or requires a plug-in, I don't care, as long as it works flawlessly.

These are my additional must-haves
  • quad-band GSM (CDMA, leave now)

  • excellent signal reception

  • excellent call volume (inbound and outbound)

  • excellent call quality (inbound and outbound)

  • good Bluetooth functionality (unlike older Moto phones)

  • a non-retarded address book (Moto Synergy phones, take a hike)

  • voice dialing

  • decent calendar and to-do functionality

  • bright, clear display

  • ease of texting: good keypad, good predictive text feature

  • firmware responsiveness and stability

These are my nice-to-haves-but-not-deal-breakers
  • small size (no K790a's, S710a's, etc.)

  • a UI that won't make me tear my hair out (haven't you left yet, Synergy?)

  • EDGE connectivity or better (see below)

  • can be purchased factory unlocked/unbranded

Here's everything I don't care about at all
  • web browsing (basic WAP is more than I need)

  • camera

  • video

  • music

  • applications

So I basically need a Sony Ericsson T637 (what I'm using now - my other phones are temporarily retired) with quad-band, a better display, up-to-date Bluetooth, and improved earphone and antenna

Re: Mac Users: Help me pick an iSync-compatible GSM phone

I've narrowed it down to

Sony Ericsson K850i (too big, too buggy, does too much "stuff&quot
Sony Ericsson S500i (cracked keys = fail)

Nokia E51 (I had it predecessor, and the S60 platform did not impress)
Nokia 6500 slide (?)
Nokia 6500 classic (?)

And non-Synergy non-music Motos don't exist

Can anyone comment on the above 5 phones? Are there any others I should consider?

What about an iPhone? I know nothing about them...and it seems like it's more than you need or want, but probably would suit your basic needs well.

iPhone lacks too many basics that even 4-year-old phones have, like MMS and voice dialing.
