Moving to Florida!

Hey guys. Blah.. so because of a kickass job opportunity I'm driving out there to FL. Leaving in about a week - week and a half. I'll be just outside of Orlando. What's to do around there? Other than insane humidity is there anything else I should be warned about? Haha. Plus it would be nice to meet people. I'm not exactly fantastic in brand new surroundings where I don't know anyone.

At least the gas is a little cheaper. It's almost 5 bucks for regular here in Los Angeles.

Huricanes?

I mean no hard feelings for what I post on this website. Anything I type/write/post/say on this forum is only that of general debate and discussion. I am not biased toward anyone or anything. I am neutral in everything I do on this website. Only those facts that are presented to me sway my thought process and siding of each discussion topic that I post about.

Re: Moving to Florida!

If you're just outside orlando, we have weekly meets close to downtown orlando.

Traffic will probably be an improvement for you... It's still kinda bad here but compared to LA... not as bad.

Let us know when you're here! We'll try and get you settled and how you the ropes.

Things to do:
Disney
Universal Studios
HardKnocksOrlando (maybe)
Clubbing
Golf
Ocean is an hour away
Shopping
Looking at the sun

I don't really know... I guess once you find some good friends you'll figure out more to do but there will be that adjustment period...

Re: Moving to Florida!

Thanks! We have Disneyland and Universal Studios here.. don't know how different they are out there. I'm not big on shopping or malls (gasp! I know) the people in malls tend to piss me off. Plus I just don't like overly crowded places. Shopping clerks are annoying and stores tend to have loud obnoxious music. Unless I see something amazing, I do most of my "shopping" online.

Just want some cool places to hang out and some down to earth people to meet! I'll definitely check out the meets.

Hurricanes don't usually last that long do they? Sorry if I sound dumb but honestly the only problem we have out here in CA is earthquakes..

Probably your best bet for fun... lol

Good luck with your move! It's a hell of a hike. What type of work does your new job entail?

Horse trainer. No, I'm not lying. I've been riding since I was 3, and have been riding/competing for most of my life. I do all that good showjumping stuff. It's pretty sweet.. the people bought like 3 neighboring properties, built a SICK house on one.. the farm takes up the other 2, and I get the older house that was pre-existing. Don't have to pay rent.. just utilities. 3 bedroom, single story. It's a little outdated *I have a GREEN KITCHEN.. yes even the fridge) but hell I'm not complaining.. no rent. Woohoo! So yeah.. there you go.

I'm leaving a week from today.
