This needs to be said...

I hate to feel the need to write this, but it needs to be said:

I really want people to stop pissing shit all over these boards.

It makes all the people (including me) less likely to even bother taking the time to contribute to what could be excellent discussion. Not naming names... but those of you know who you are.

The point of these boards is to share experience and ask for other's experience... some of you need to grow up, you're running off all those people with years of experience, talent, and skills who would love to contribute but are fed up with stepping over the crap all over every topic.

Since I signed up, over half the engineers on this board have disappeared due to the riff-raff coming in and either pretending they know everything and never being open to learn, or shitting all over what could be meaningful discussion to bitch someone out they don't even know... it reminds me of this great xkcd cartoon... let me find that:

Source: http://xkcd.com/386/

A great example... I have been active on these boards for over a year now, registered January of 2007. I only have 99 posts as of this posting. It isn't because I'm stupid -- I'm an Aerospace Engineer working at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics -- it's because I only contribute when I feel like I have meaningful information to provide, or to ask a question that has not already been asked to learn. I READ TO LEARN about the vehicle and other's experiences and I POST TO CONTRIBUTE. I don't post to bash, hate, criticize, yell, make fun of, ridicule, etc...

Can we please get back meaningful posts? I think it's time for the mods to tighten down and get mean. It's plain embarrasing to have great people, like many employees at Cobb, CP-E, and other great sponsers (who probably don't have a lot of time to post), wade through our shit-ridden topics.

Let's get these boards back to the quality I remember. A topic should NEVER need locked -- enough is enough.

Re: This needs to be said...

I don't post much in the MS3 section despite owning one, but i can say that it is really getting old having to read through countless useless bash type posts to get the smallest bit of useful information about a certain mod or problem. I really appreciate alwayzamd for posting this up! Thanks bud!

I agree 100%.

The Mazdaspeed boards are exceptionally bad, don't know why.

Re: This needs to be said...

All the engineers have been ran off by the mods. Thats how it looks to me. When they are asking legit questions and asking the questions nobody wants to ask they are getting slapped on the wrist saying "if you don't like it don't post in there." To me that kind of says go away...don't debate in here. Hell I might even get slapped in the wrist for posting how I feel about it just because its not what certin people what to hear....

Just my .2 and what I have observed.

um...probably because the median age here is probably about 22

but despite that, this board is one of the tamest boards i've ever been a part of (and i've been a contributor on many and even run my own)....you guys obviously haven't gotten out into the real message board world...this is like sesame street in here

Re: This needs to be said...

lol if you're complaining about this board you have seen anything yet. Try roaming around the honda-tech boards and see how much of a shit fest that turns into. I think there was like a 100 page thread on people arguing piggyback's vs hondata or something stupid like that.

Re: This needs to be said...

Agreed. Try www.clubsi.com. Now that board is the biggest pile of crap in craptown. The people who don't know anything just post stupid comments all day, and those who do know something about cars piss on each other every thread trying to prove each other wrong. They are pretty good for about the first 5 posts, and then the personal attacks start (ex. Oh yeah, well you didnít spell nitrous correctly so youíre an idiot).

I agree that this is one of the more tame boards I've ever been on, ESPECAILLY for an automotive board where most members are probably in their 20's.

I don't think we should be bashing the idiots that come on here. They will always be around. We should be bashing the non-idiots who get sucked into the dumb online name calling. If somebody says "you're a f***ing idiot and don't know what you're talking about. I've been working on cars for X amount of years and have done this and that, moron." Just ignore it! If you really have something to prove go do it somewhere other than the internet.

Re: This needs to be said...

This is the natural progression of almost all forums. The best ones I'm a member of have very little moderation. *gasp* now theres a concept. This one is big time overmoderated, but I'll stay because I am very interested in the cars and I haven't turned every nut on it yet.
