Re: Anyone else watching the Touring Car race on speed chnl?

I was at the Grand Am/Koni Challenge races Memorial day and can confirm the cars are regular 6's sponsored and built with some speed parts like the poster before me said.

With the Miatas and 6's there, you wouldn't know 3's are made by mazda if you didn't know any better lol.

What's the use of happiness? It can't buy you money.

I believe you are mistaken with the SCCA SPEED World Touring car series. They raced alongside w/ GrandAm at LimeRock, but are completely different series. Grand Am/Koni don't race mazda6s. GrandAm GT are porsche gt3, corvettes, pontiac GXPr, pontiac GTOr, and Mazda rx8s. The only Mazdas in Koni ST are Mx-5 and rx-8s...there are no Mazdas in Koni GS.

Re: Anyone else watching the Touring Car race on speed chnl?

I was there as I said, the mazdas may have been speed world challenge cars, but I was there for the Grand am and Kioni races on behalf of Turner Motorsports. The speed race was the last race and we were packing up from the weekend by then.

Re: Anyone else watching the Touring Car race on speed chnl?

I can confirm that they're normal 6's not speeds, and they race in Touring Car not in GT. I think there are 5 MAzda6's in the series, and 3 of them were built by Tri-Point Engineering and are raced by the Tri-Point Motorsports team.

My car is currently in their shop, right next to another one of those 6's...it's such a beautiful car. I was lucky enough to have Tri-Point install their new Mazda3 turbo kit on my car to test their tune before officially selling the kit, which is coming out in August-- it's gonna be really nice!

Re: Anyone else watching the Touring Car race on speed chnl?

Yeah dude, their shop is pretty fun to visit. They also had a couple gutted 3's there too that they're playing with, testing out a bunch of suspension stuff and lots of different types of rear wing setups for the best aerodynamics on the track.
