sup guys. just bored sitting on campus about to go to statics actually. and got to thinkin, we should have an Engineer thread. for all us bad asses that just want some recognition. i think itd be pretty sweet if we could get a group together and what-nots. also give a place for students to ask questions if needed.

food for thought: "yes, engineering majors are hard, but there's gotta be some reason we start at so much of a better salary."

so i guess we could start this off by just a simple role call. names/screen names and where u go to school or graduated.

EDIT: oh i forgot. i go to UTSA. mechanical engineering. with a comp sci minor.

Daniel; 'Sok' (nickname)
Univ of Alabama - Huntsville; College of Engineering
  • Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering [ undergrad; graduated 2002]

  • Electrical Engineering; area of study: guidance, navigation & controls [ midway through master's program ]

Worked as a network systems engineer @ UAH through college. Started my professional occupation about 1 year after graduation at a DoD subcontractor, Miltec Missiles & Space. I started off working in weapons effectiveness, but for some reason the guidance, nav & controls stuff that I worked on was a bit more interesting for me and I started to pursue that area of study. Currently, I'm working in Modeling & Simulations as a Guidance/Systems Engineer.

It certainly isn't due to the engineer's mastery of the english language.

Many a career path starts at higher pay with just as much education and many a career path ends at a significantly higher salary. Not knocking engineers, but they aren't all that and a ball of wax (for that matter no career or major path is).

Re: mazda3 engineers and engineer majors unite!!!

So your saying that Mazda3 Engineers are better than any other engineer out there?

Don't forget you have Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan posters in here, and I know your going to say engineer majors is included in the title. Sounds like to me though, as in your original post, Mazda3 engineers are the best.

I mean no hard feelings for what I post on this website. Anything I type/write/post/say on this forum is only that of general debate and discussion. I am not biased toward anyone or anything. I am neutral in everything I do on this website. Only those facts that are presented to me sway my thought process and siding of each discussion topic that I post about.

we'll accept u but ur on notice txmica. hahaha.

to keepjeepin: engineers in general r better. mazda3 engineers r probably better, but thats circumstantial and arguable i suppose.

matt's just grouchy so ill let him slide. he's on notice though. xP btw, what's ur major/career?

steph you can be our ...spice.

haha aid was that a just for fun comment or were u involving urself in the roll call?

wow seems like a bunch of people r at least involved in aerospace. thats pretty sweet. i kinda wanna try to get an internship with like toyota(they build the tundra's at the plant here) or something, but i might not have the GPA yet... im taking my time graduating. im going to start my 4th year in the fall and i will have 5 semesters left at least.

Oakland University - Computer Science

Depending on the school, Computer Science is either considered a math or engineering discipline. Also, I'm an Electrical Engineer at work. I really need to get a programming job, I use almost nothing that I've learned in school at work.
