New Job, Citigroup Corp.

Hey there everybody, I've been working for my parents for about uhh... quite some time now, 4+ years and I've been making 7.50 the entire time. I just recently got a job at Citigroup Corp. handling peoples credit and all that fancy stuff for 12.60 plus benefits and school reimbursement. Can you say more mods?! haha, just wanted to throw it out there and to ask if anyone here works for Citi also

My name is Orlando, and I like to party.

Friends worked for Citi when they were in college. Great Benefits but the job sucked according to them. They would call people and tell them that they owed citi a crapload of money. THey had to deal with a lot of angry people.

Those angry people should just do what I (used to) do....when you see an incoming call from a 1-800 number or an area code you don't recognize, just don't pick up. Then just delete the voicemail, if any, and maintain your blissful ignorance. See, it's better for everyone :P

BG, did you get a job at the Citi in Frederick or Hagerstown? I teach at the school associated with the Citi in Hagerstown.

Our parents pretty much dog their positions at Citi all the time. Most of them are only there because of the $$ they make the the benefits of the school being so close.

I hope your experiences BG are much more positive.

Haha, if I could I would clear your credit, and mine Danger Mouse

I know some people who work at Citi, and man... the love the money and benefits but they don't really like their job lol. The people I know work there for Fraud, so I can imagine why all the people that call in are angry. I got lucky, or so I think. I'm not doing fraud but I basically manage credit card applications. That job normally gets much less than what I'm getting but since I speak Spanish they started me higher.

Poet, there's a school associated with Citi? I didn't know about this, I'm working in Hagerstown only because Frederick is full... I get a transfer after a year lol. I do like how their paying for... well practically all of my school. for next year. Only reason why I think this job is worth it is because I've been dealing with assholes for a while now, working in a pizzeria. I can handle them...

My Aunt is a Dept. Manager at the main CITI bank building in NYC. You got to start somewhere in the food chain, but once you work your way up, things look a lot better. She tried to get a job for me a while back, but I was in between moving to NYC or staying in Texas to finish College, which neither happend, I moved to Norcal LOL

Re: New Job, Citigroup Corp.

Yea no shit LOL, I became extremely interested in the Academy of Art University of San Francisco after paying a visit to the campus about 3 times for 3 seperate tours....now I'm just stuck in between Transportation Design and Automotive Mechanic. With the economy and my financial status / living arrangements, I need something a little sooner thena 4 - 6 yr school plan. As well, my current employer is extremely horrible with benefits and HR support that I'm trying to find another job, so my decisions are becoming a little more difficult, but I never lose sight of what I'm here for, it just takes more time then I thought it would to get on my feet with both living and finances. Its been almost a year since I moved to the Bay Area.
