Anybody on here race an SRT 4 yet

I just got rid of my SRT-4 and miss the power, but I wonder was it really faster or did it "feel" faster?

Re: Anybody on here race an SRT 4 yet

I guess it would depend on how modified your NSRT was. I have been in both and driven both....but the only NSRT I have driven was to modified to compare the two.

But I have to say that a NSRT has a more faster/speed feel to it when driving. But I think that has to do with the better comfort the Speed3 has.

SRT mod list. 58 mm throttle body and spacer, Perrin SRI, K&N dual cone filter, ported intake manifold, Machined and ported TD04, .32 over cams, 3 in HKS test pipe, full 3 in TBE, high flow cat, MAP clamp, AGP WGA, and some suspeension shit that doesnt matter. I would guess 300+ whp and 350 + wtq. I really mean stock for stock. Just curious really.

Are you sure, have you seen a heads up stock for stock race? The neon has more power, less gears and and is lighter.

Re: Anybody on here race an SRT 4 yet

I just drove my buddies SRT-4 the other day and it really didnt feel like it was that fast...there wasn't a whole lot of through the passenger in the seat puhs...maybe its because I didnt know exaclty where the best sections in the RPM band were to push it but...then again i dont have a MS3 so I don't have much to compare with...but to be honest it seemed like my dads 01 330i was faster. and that had 225HP (rated from the factory)

The neon has less power...
230hp vs 260hp
250ft/lbs vs 280ft/lbs.

The Dodge was rated very close to whp from the factory. However, the majority of ms3 dynos out there still read higher.

Also, average 1/4 mile times are almost identical. Stock for stock it is, without a doubt, a driver's race.

My srt dynoed 235 whp stock, most dynoes i see from the 3 are 220ish. and the neon pulls to redline. But i have to say i agree it would definately be the driver mod, neither would have a big enough advantage to overcome a good driver

I have driven both and I would def. have to say that the NSRT feels faster but is not. For sure its all the comfort in the ms3 that makes it feel a little different.

Stock for stock ms3 is faster though.

MOD for MOD...

We cant say yet...there really havent been a full set of stage kits released. COBBLE COBBLE. Lets wait for the AP to the the market and some custom tunes to start popping up and lets see what this stock turbo can do.

...is waiting for the next episode of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood....

Re: Anybody on here race an SRT 4 yet

ive driven a speed and ridden in both, and heres my take on it:

srt: throws you back in the seat with that big-turbo street car sort of feel, all balls. all power hits at one time and its 100% go

ms3: comfortable, as you hit the gas the power gradually becomes more and more. as you pull you keep thinking "how much longer is this car going to pull" because it gets stronger and stronger.

stock for stock id guess the ms3 but neither that i rode in/drove were stock, although the srt had many more mods than the speed did and it only pulled half a car or a full car tops.

Evo VIII: not stock.
