Ever have surgury?

I just got my tonsils removed, a deviated septum fixed, and also my adnoids removed. Dam I feel like shit. Any Idea when my tonsils will not hurt? and when I can eat without my removed tonsil bleeding so much I am coughing up blood

just to let you know how big they were I would say about the size of the tip of your finger to the middle joint but much fatter

basicly they were huge

Re: Ever have surgury?

Only surgery I've ever had was to remove my wisdom teeth. It was 15 years ago already...

Re: Ever have surgury?

Let's see, only two surgeries, one was wisdom teeth in '93 (All four at once, have a near lethal aversion to oatmeal now :shock

The big one in '99 was after an auto accident, rolled my car avoiding a ladder that had come off at 100km/h and came flying at me on the highway, swung the car into the next lane, the left rear wheel hit the gravel and I was launched in the air and rolled twice, result was that the top of my tibia was powdered, necessitating surgery that inserted a titanium plate and seven screws along with a graft from my hip into my right leg.

Two and a half weeks in the hospital, months of therapy after that... no... fun time it wasn't :x (Leg still ain't right)

^Dang. Sorry to hear.

A moderate dysplastic nevus that could have progressed to melanoma. Never hurts to ask your doctor about interesting things on your body; you never know when it could be 'not so good' news. I still have my wisdom teeth (I only have three; yay genetics!) and they aren't bothering me.

Re: Ever have surgury?

I had a broken wrist and had to have my bone packed with 'squishy' bone from my hip.  That was about 15 years ago.

Three years ago my appendix ruptured and I did not know it.  I had had the flu the week before and I thought that I was not shaking it.  I went back to the doctor and she checked me out, took x-rays, blood, and a physical exam of my torso.  She decided to send me to the imaging center for a CT scan and I knew that it was bad when they told me to not get dressed and to wait for another scan.  After that I went to one hospital, but they did not have a bed for me so I had to drive to the next hospital and wait in the ER until I was admitted.  I had surgery that night (late that night) and spent the next 8 days fighting infection with IV antibiotics and pain with the magic button .  The recovery was the worst with all the vomiting and wasting away to near nothing.  But I have made up for it since then.

Re: Ever have surgury?

Hmmm, let me start a list:

1) 2nd grade - appendix removed
2) 6th grade - broke left pinky finger, needed 2 pins and screws
3) 6th grade - removed pins and screws from pinky finger
4) 2004 - 4 Wisdom teeth out
5) BRAIN SURGERY!! YAY!
6) Surgery to implant a lumbar shunt
7) Surgery to repair lumbar shunt and replace it
8) Broke my knee by chipping 3 pieces off my kneecap

I think that's it.
