best car around a track.....

ok, so i'm sittin here at work BORED OUTTA MY MIND and i got to thinkin.... which car under $20 grr would be best suited to win a race around say, leguna seca? mazda3 hatch, impreza 2.5i hatch, mini cooper, rabbit, tC, civic coupe ex, or a new focus (all 08's by the way)? so i did some research:

mazda: 156 hp, 0-60 in 7.3, 2929 lbs, $18.5k and 29 hwy mpg
subaru: 170, 8.2, 3053, $19.0k and 27
mini: 118, 7.7, 2546, $18.1k and 37
vw: 170, 7.8, 3040, $16.7k and 29
scion: 161, 7.4, 2987, $17.8k and 27
honda: 140, 7.7, 2698, $18.8k and 34
ford: 140, 8.0, 2588, $14.8k and 35

if we take into account fuel economy for pit stops, it adds an interesting dynamic. i'd have to guess the mazda, as the overall best car there, would do pretty well. and handling will go a long way in determining the winner so i figure the mini would do well. also, i have the suby up there pretty high cuz i have a feeling that awd will play some kind of positive factor around such an intricate course. the honda and ford are just too under powered in my opinion. and i'd say the bunny would edge the toyota based on suspension alone.

i'm not trying to start any shit here, just bored and curious what others think about it

+1 Mini.....and the Subie would be close with the AWD. But I believe they are rated as being way underrated.

Re: best car around a track.....

depending on the speed of the course, i would tap the mazda. if the other cars aren't allowed to wind it out for long stretches, the torque of the mazda would kill em.
