FIA Boss ‘Nazi’ orgy

Anybody else seen this?

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/spo...cle3649197.ece

It sounded like an April fools joke at first, but all the media outlets started picking it up.

Yeah, saw that on the BBC a few days ago. Max is the FIA president...oversees more than just F1.

I wish he and B.E. would both resign. Those 2 money hungry pricks care nothing for the sport.

I don't know if Jean Todt will be much better, given his ties to Ferrari aren't much different than Bernie's were.

Re: FIA Boss ‘Nazi’ orgy

I did not say JT would be a great replacement (granted, i think still better than max and bernie). Who I would have in power, I have no clue....I just know that cities/countries/tracks are turning down and dropping F1 events due to increasing fees. We lost our US Grand Prix because Indianapolis got tired of paying B.E. so much damned money. Now with B.E. trying to force Melbourne to become a night event (at whatever cost to them); it has all left a sour taste in my mouth.

Re: FIA Boss ‘Nazi’ orgy

I didn't mean to put words in your mouth...he is the replacement and unfortunately, the FIA, like any other major motorsport outfit will be ruled by the "old regime".

The good tracks are history, as in the tracks with history. I do wish to make a tour of all the abandoned tracks, and see the weeds growing over their history and the faded paint on their walls. Probably give me a good shiver.

I agree with your sour taste, that and all the NASCAR-ification of F1 and other series have left me with a distaste. I can do without it...I can enjoy my Sunday just as easily not watching motorsports, hate to say. It's all about money, fame, whos-who, politics, being seen, etc... and no longer about the driver, cars, engineers, crews, and supporters. And because of that, it's no longer about the "older" fans. At least Le Mans and some of the ALMS races haven't gone that way yet, still too competitive.

Back to the subject at hand: I don't agree with what Mosley did or was a part of, definitely not something I'd be doing. However, it is his personal life and politics should not play a role. He is a leader of a private organization. Albeit, a very high profile one. And that is where the person must know the balance...it's my personal life, I choose my level of morality and if it doesn't hurt others, than what is the issue. The flipside is that he is a high profile leader and therefore, it is inevitable that his personal life will be exploited. No different than those in the entertainment business, major business executives, or even politicians (if they aren't abusing the power of their office).
