Anyone Work for a Cell Phone Company?

Does anyone work for a cell phone company here? More specifically, Verizon?

I'm in a situation where I need a new phone. I have a PDA/Pocket PC that I locked into a 2 year contract a little over a year ago. I bought it because I needed to use the internet and check my email regularly while I travelled on business. But a couple months ago, I received a company phone with internet and I no longer needed my internet/data plan or my "brick" Pocket PC. I dropped my internet and data plan and figured I'd deal with my current phone until I could upgrade. But now that my data/internet plan has been cancelled, I get charged insane amounts for data usage whenever I receive picture messages. I've called Verizon, but my only option is to block data all together and not receive picture messages. They recommended that I get a new phone, but I refuse pay retail for a phone. Even the cheapest current phones are $300 or more!

Is there anyway I can upgrade or at least get a discount on a different phone? I do get a lot of pics sent to me from family, so I don't want to remove it and my Pocket PC is too big just for phone use.

Thanks in advance.

Ebay phone until you are eligible to upgrade....it's when you hit 22 months but I'm sure they told you when you're eligible for upgrade.

Phones without SIM cards make me a little nervous to buy on eBay. A friend of mine bought one for Sprint, and they couldn't activate it because it was potentially stolen.

So that's my only option?

Re: Anyone Work for a Cell Phone Company?

I've bought a couple...always look for return options. And I buy the "new" ones. But yea it's that or find one around like a friend or something. I have a Verizon acct <-which I hate and an AT&T acct which so far has been good....but yea they all need their money.
