Views on America

This might get ugly, but i just wanted to see different opinions about the American country, why is there so many more crimes (while we have so many laws)than onther countries aorund the world. Anybody see that babysitter that got caught mishandling a young kid on the news 2 weeks ago? (WTF is the reason for that, you never see anything like that anywhere else in the world). Why are our school systems so bad etc. I have my own opinions but i want to hear yours...Add anything else i left out or that you feel like adding on.

Re: Views on America

There is too much emphasis on being "politically correct" which forces people to hold in feelings rather than talking about them.

Kids don't need ritalin, they need their dad to smack them if they play more video games than do homework. Mothers need to stay at home and take care of kids and play with them, rather than sending them to a daycare center. Stronger and complete separation of church and state. Just a few examples...

Exactly! But why are there laws that say you cant hit your kid? Why aren't moms spending time with their kids? Because they need to work to put food on the table, it seems that we are brainwashed and its just a cycle we can break out of. We go to work, come home tired as hell, work again, go shopping to make us feel better etc. Theres no time for those little things anymore, at least here in NJ there isn't.

Yes i know, we all know that, but why does that happen? I know other countries arent golden but America seems to stand out from others.

Re: Views on America

You have an uneducated and narrow perspective on the world.

But! I think you are being sarcastic. Word.

maybe because you live here and thats the news you read...

as for what's going on here, i think the media, and parents letting TV bring up their kids...is partially to blame.
back in the day, if kids were watching TV it was wholesome shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and "Father Knows Best"...now TV the shows that are rearing our children are desensitizing crap....there are no good role models on TV anymore...even the sports stars are always in trouble...the po-po on TV isn't Sheriff Andy Griffin anymore, they're brutal racists with batons, or pregnant girlfriend killers...
