I should be dead!

so I went snowboarding today to Bristol Mtn.
its only hour and half away..but did runs all day..and was pretty tired.

on my way back. I found myself OUT at the wheel!
woke up - doing 75 and on course to killing myself.

anyone else with similar experiences ???
next time - even at the slightest sigh of sleepiness I'm pulling over and taking a nap.

Re: I should be dead!

Yes. Several years ago, I was driving home from Pittsburgh on very little sleep when I was in college. The rumble strips on the side of the highway woke me up when I started running over them. I was literally slapping myself in the face for the rest of the drive. It scared the shit out of me.

Re: I should be dead!

Don't ever do it agian. One of my friends last year going to work at 5am fell asleep and crossed over the highway at 90mph, and killed himself and 4 others. Tragedy.

Re: I should be dead!

I travel the interstate every morning and the number of cars/trucks I see doing this is crazy. Just the other day this big ass Navigator was in front of me and I start noticing it start going to the left, to the edge of the lane, on the paved shoulder and then finally nearly completely in the grass. I was already slowing down considerably as was the truck next to me anticipating the sudden jerk of the wheel that was coming. He jerked it over to the right real hard, throwing shit all over my car (luckily driving the '95 240SX and not my '08 MS3) and crossed into the right hand lane. The thing that REALLY upset me (pissed me off) was that I saw two little heads in the back bobbing back and forth. This genius had his wife and two small children in there with him. The big F150 next to me sped up and got in front of him and basically blocked him in to slow him down as he was moving on pretty fast. If he hadn't gotten off at the next exit I would have probably called the HP to at least scare his ass into waking up.

At least you didn't wreck.
