Sound System People ... UNITE !!! questions re: systems

Hey Guys !!!

Putting a system in my RDX. I am as big a system n00bie as one gets ...

Started my research several days ago, but really looking for some good advice.

Thinking about installing this ... Kicker 12L7 ...
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+4+ohms+-.html

Not going for looks, just gonna bolt down in the rear and call it a day. So, i felt, a box premade by kicker to perfect kicker specs was the best bet.

Questions:
1. Should I go with a 2-ohm or 4-ohm setup. Tried to understand the differences but i got totally lost ...
2. What is the best/cheapest amp to power this bad boy. thinking about a ZX750.1 Kicker Amp.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KitINAG...px?i=206ZX7501
3. Also thinking about Mid's/Highs. Issue being, not sure what my factor headunit can take, and Its impossible to upgrade without some serious/serious fab work.

Thanks guys !!!

#1. Depends on your amp. DVC 4 ohm can be wired in 8ohm or 2 ohm DVC 2 ohm can be wired to 1ohm or 4 ohm. Mono block amp that is. Stereo amp you just need a 2 channel stable at 4ohms or 2 ohms stereo.

#2. Best and cheap doesnt happen.

#3. Find out what ohm the factory speakers are and dont drop below those. Power rating on the speakers does not affect the factory headunit.

1 DVC Driver
Parallel
When using a 4 Ohm Dual Voice Coil (DVC) subwoofer, the total impedance of this system is 2 Ohms.

with the amp you said you wanted to use would push 750 watts x 1 at 2 ohms and 1500 watts x 1 at 2 ohms.
that should be close and it should make that sub sound good too. now all you need to do is decide on what kind of box to put it in!

Custom steeda cold air intake| Steeda throttle body spacer| 2 Magnaflow 14850 mufflers| 8000k HID| 35% Tint all the way around| Pioneer AVIC-D3 Headunit| 1 12'' Alpine Type-X sub in a custom fiberglass box| Alpine MRP-M850 mono amps (800 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)| Alpine Type-S interior speakers w/ tweeters| Apline MRP-F240 4-ch (40 watts X 4)|Interior LED mod Blue| Custom Milan guage cluster|

That hifonics amp is chill. I had the 1000 and 1500 a few years back. Worked well.

If you get the hifonics go with a dual 2ohm sub. Also you will want to have that box on the passanger side of the trunk with the port facing that way.

I have the Hifonics BX1500D, good amps, though not as good as it was back in the day.

With that amp and sub setup the sub will recieve 1100rms. Little fucker should hit pretty good, L7's aint no joke. Now get it a friend, port that puppy LARGE and you will be getting bow downs on the street.

Crutchfield will tell you what size you can use, what the stock is, maybe even the ohm you have.
