Genentech people, I've got an interview for an internship! :)

Hi all, I was wondering if there's any Genentech people here. If so, I have a couple of questions...

I'm being interviewed by Dr. Ali Zarrin. His profile isn't on Genentech page and I would like to know more about him. I can't google him either. So if anyone know of him from within the company, can you tell me more about him? He sent me one of his papers to read and it's fairly similar to what I already know (DNA damage) but with a slight twist.

Also, even though I'm being interviewed for an internship position, I am looking to turn this into a permanent position. Hopefully as a research associate/assistant. In what ways should I let them know I am interested in a permanent position? Flat out say it in the interview?

During job hunting, I told myself I wouldn't settle for an internship or a tech job... but if it's from Genentech, I'm taking it. It's hard to say no to Genentech.

By the way my interview is this coming Monday.

Even though I don't work for them, I work not too far from them. Love their stock symbol!

I'm not from genentech but It's just like every other biotech company out there. just flat out ask or state your feelings about a permanent position, do it at the end when they'll probably ask if you have any questions. how old are you, student or do you have a degree?

Also, does anyone from Genentech know of Weilan Ye?

She is also giving me an interview, I would like to know more about her (aside the stuff from her profile on genentech.com). So if anyone is affiliated with her, please let me know. Thanks in advance

You're over thinking everything. Know their background, know the company's product and mission. The chances of anyone here having any knowledge of one specific person out of 300 million in the U.S. is nill....

Good luck, though. Just don't try to hard and relax

Maybe you can find out their addresses and drive by there one night. Have a pair of binoculars and park across the street. Once they go to sleep, dig through their trash cans. If they go out at night, tail them and take photos.
