Energy drinks and your Mazda.

Hello everyone,

Couple days I bought an energy drink. I dropped it while walking towards my car. Silly me, I opened the can inside my car and boom, a little volcano happened. Some of the drink poured on top of the passenger window button opener and now its all stick when I press it down.

How do I get under the buttons to clean the goo out?

Pop the window switch plate off (butter knife works well and start from the rear toward the front). Then the switches can be removed with a couple screws underneath the plate. It's pretty simple to get inside there.

Be careful when popping the panel loose. The clips holding it to the door panel aren't really tension clips like are used in most of the car, just little plastic hooks. If you pry up too hard they will break off. The front "point" of the switch panel is a hook so once the other clips are loose the whole thing slides backwards to release. Alternately you can just remove the door panel which will take you maybe a minute or so and release the clips from the inside of the panel and not worry about breaking any off. I did that a bunch recently while wiring my puddle lamps and it really is super easy to do.
