Building A New Desktop..

So I am looking to upgrade from my 17" Dell 9300i Laptop (which I never carry anyways). To a desktop that is going to handle most any games, photoshop, and load quickly.

Going to run XP on it, because I despise Vista.

So I was planning on just building one (havent in 2+ years, boy have things changed.. alot). Just curious to see what you all think and if anyone knows of alternatives that are being released soon.. I havent been around computers in a bit and am just getting back into it. I think I did a good job, since it was the first time I have shopped for this stuff since Jr year in HS.. With work and school, I need something fast, reliable and fun.

Most all of these parts had 400+ reviews and 5 starts on NewEggs customer reviews.

So here are the specs on what I am looking to build. Please let me know if you notice any compatability issues:

Re: Building A New Desktop..

I should really upgrade to a quad-core...I've got AMD's AM2 socket already, so all I really need is the processor...

Current rig: AMD Athlon 4400 X2 (that's 2.2Gx2), Asus M2N-something SLI deluxe mobo, 4 gigs RAM, approx 1TB in SATA drives, two evga nvidia7900 GT KO, dual Dell 20" widescreens, DVD/CD-RW, CD-RW w/lightscribe....

oh yeah, and the motherboard has dual Gigabit network interfaces, as well as built-in wireless

Nah. I only have like 60gb on my laptop and that wasnt even full. I'll probally pick up a 500gb 7200rpm just for storing music.
