I hate people...

So I moved into a new place up here in San Francisco. Its a 1 bedroom townhome, and I get my own carport parking space which is a fantastic thing to have in the city. I signed the lease on the 31st of Dec. but didn't move in until this past weekend. When I signed the lease there was a car parked in my parking spot, but I didn't mind as I knew I wouldn't be moving in for about two weeks.

Well, when I moved in the same car was still parked in my spot, so I left them a friendly note to please not park there again otherwise I would have them towed. Fair enough right? Well that car moves after a couple hours, BUT now there is a different car in my spot. Luckily I am a patient guy (and there was street parking available), so I just left them a note as well. Later on that night I decide to move my car to the spot as it has finally opened up for me.

I come out this morning to find my car KEYED on the hatch as well as down the drivers side. I'm guessing it wasn't a random act as there are plenty of cars parked in the area that are much nicer and more expensive than mine. So, I'm guessing one of the lowlifes that I left a note for on their car didn't appreciate me "taking" their spot, which is actually MINE.

Anyways, lucky for me the piece of shit that did this didn't even do that good of a job. With some wetsanding and polishing I was able to get rid of all but one key mark. The marks I got out went down to just the clearcoat, so they were removed for the most part. The one on the hatch however went down to the primer, and I couldn't obviously remove it.

That's a nice welcome to the community isn't it?

Oh and my car now has a cover with a lock on it, so hopefully that discourages them from doing it again.

that sucks man, can you see your car from a window? you might want to set up a camera or something, and I'd go and tell the management anyway about people parking in your spot.

Re: I hate people...

do you still see those cars around? try to find the owner and have a nice calm talk with him while holding your baseball bat

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer

whenever forced into drastic measures such as his I always take camera phone pics of the cars plates.... it is a very goos idea. then if something happens I get the address of the cars owner on public record and put baloney (if that's how it's spelled) on the hood of their cars, it strips the paint away, sometimes to the primer if left for long enough. that usually deters people from making the same mistake again.

Re: I hate people...

Screw it, just go do what someone did to Corbs.

Go light that persons car on fire.

Re: I hate people...

That blows, but I'd go find their cars and get their plate numbers. Hit up the cops, file a police report and do shit proper. You can find 'em and beat their asses AFTER you get money for a newly painted hatch.
