Ford now claims to own rights to "your" pics?

This is just something that I think we should all be aware of. I am going to keep my personal comments to myself on this matter until further time and I know the outcome..

Enjoy reading a ton of posts here :

Re: I Am Outraged!

Well that is just retarded. Last time I checked, MY NAME is on the title and registration papers!

I would like them to take us to court, the judge would probably throw it out the window.

I mean no hard feelings for what I post on this website. Anything I type/write/post/say on this forum is only that of general debate and discussion. I am not biased toward anyone or anything. I am neutral in everything I do on this website. Only those facts that are presented to me sway my thought process and siding of each discussion topic that I post about.

I would like to urge caution before jumping to conclusion here. I honestly doubt Ford told Cafepress anything, Cafepress is just playing CYA. You can't take everything on the internet at face value.

Revised my Original Post

I have revised my post because I totally agree with Fatabbot on this matter after calming down over reading all 50 pages of posts.

As of this moment Ford has not made contact with the BMC further on this matter as of right now these accusations are directly from CafePress.com.

Make your own personal decision & just be aware.

Re: I Am Outraged!

Hi everyone. As fatabot stated, everybody should take a deep breath and relax before they go out and start burning their Fusion's.

Finding out the truth behind Internet rumors, or preferably just ignoring them and not perpetuating them is always a good idea.

These sorts of stories and rumors make their way around the world every few years or so, even before we were all connected to the Intermawebnet. And as I/you get older and older, we should realize that ignoring them is the best way to go.

I have heard this same rumor/garbage about every car maker. Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, etc etc. :lmao: All of them have interest in protecting their trademark/copyright interests, and all do.

Not to sound like anyone's Father, but the best way to look at it is this: Whether it is true or not (in this case, basically not), how does this affect my life, or those around me? Not one bit, so why get worked up about it.

After the initial wow factor of this thread dies down, no one will care. It really is a non-issue.

Just my two cents.

Good luck everyone!

EDIT - I started to compose this post right after "fatabot's first post, and before Jason calmed down and revised his post. I'm a slow typer, sorry!

Re: Something To be Aware Of...

I was going to try this for next year. Guess I won't be now.

I agree with Fatabot on this.... I would bet that Cafepress is just covering their ass's.

Exactly. Once you buy the car from Ford it transfers ownership from them to you, you (and possibly the bank) own the property. Them saying they own pics of your car would be like Home Depot saying they own any pics of the faucet you bought from them and installed in your house.

Open and shut property law case.

if that was the case, then car spy photographers would be in big trouble. its your picture, doesn't really matter what its of.
