The MLB needs to fix its rules (which it has done, to some extent) and policies and move on. Even if we do find individual players that did it before it was illegal, what does going after them prove? If you strip them of something, how do you know the player you're putting in their place wasn't just as bad? It's frankly silly. Fix the rules, move on.
Oh, and as for Clemens, EVEN IF HE IS GUILTY we're talking about 3 years out of 24, including a year in which he wasn't very good. Big freakin deal.
You're right, it wouldn't prove much at all. I'm not sure if that's what this report was looking to do or if it was just looking to incite the MLB to make changes to its policies. Which, I agree, it needs to do. Substances maybe illegal now, but how has/will the MLB enforce that going forward?
